it's been 8 months since I found out that my breast cancer spread to my spine. I had an mri. Now my doctor wants me to do another Mir. I'm still having some pain in my back. She said it might be mechanical. I don't know what she meant. Does anybody heard of that and is it necessary to have another Mir. I hated getting the first one. Any advice please help thanks

Tychad, my oncologist said the same thing to me about the pain I get in my L5. Mechanical means there are things you are doing that trigger the pain, for example bending over, standing or sitting too long, twisting a certain way or anything that puts pressure on the area through movement. Is your pain still there at rest? I hope this helps. An MRI at this point might be a good idea to compare to the previous one, you may be surprised to hear there has been improvement. I've learned healing hurts too.

You don't say what chemo or chemo related meds you're on? I believe, it's common to do PET scans or MRI's, regularly, to see if the meds are effective in treating the cancer....
