Lori, this is such good news that you are up and about a bit and feeling so good...wow...that's wonderful....and those six hours of sleep were probably just what your body needed. THAT you could sleep that long is a good sign!

Have you seen any of your critters? How did they fare while you were away? Am sure they missed you!

Happy you are back in the fold...

    love t and p

Glad to read that you are home - I hope the recovery is going well and that your mom is okay.

I see lots of your lovely garden pictures in another thread - hope you are relaxing and enjoying plenty of time outdoors as you heal.

Hi everyone! I'm doing great! Mom came home tonight and is doing very well also.

I have my FU appointments tomorrow with both my PS and my BS. My drains have been a piece of cake and will probably be pulled during my PS visit. My drains have been putting out very low amounts, below 15ccs a day so I'm pretty confident they are on their way out. My PS won't pull drains until they are under 20ccs a day, not the usual 30ccs as other PS's.

I'll be back after my appointments tomorrow afternoon!

    Hugs and kisses to All!!

    Lori,

I'm tittering at FU appointments. Aren't they just sometimes? ;-)

Sounds like it's a good thing the drains aren't to be pulled until the output is low. I've had to have two seromas drained twice so far after my surgery and have an appointment to get them drained again next Wednesday. It's like my boobs just keep growing back but one to an A cup and the other to a rather squishy C. Thank goodness the squishy C only grew to a squishy B this time. :-)

Hoping for good healing for you.

Lori, glad you’re doing so well--and may very soon be drainless! Imagine--no more little shoulder bags beneath your clothes! Bummer (no pun intended) about your Mom. Did they ever get it diagnosed & solved?

    Good evening everyone!

I'm drain free! PS and I are both very cautious about the process but he didn't want to invite infection. I was down to just 4cc on left and 7cc on right a day so out they came! I'll keep a close eye on everything and I see my PS next week to decide if I'm ready for fills. I'm at 400ccs right now and I may go to 700 to 800 ccs. We'll cc :-)

I also had my follow up with my BS and my path report was in already! I had 9 sentinel nodes removed and 2 were positive for metastatic ductal carcinoma. The 3 auxiliary nodes taken were all negative. I'll have an appointment with an oncologist sometime next week. My BS was confident that with ER+ results I'll have some sort of hormonal treatment but very iffy on chemo. I'll take iffy! I'd rather her be iffy than to find out yes when she said no.

Does anyone find hearing everything that needs to be done was easier than actually going thru it? The funniest thing is when I get a chill my nips react and I don't have any nips!! LOL

I hear a pain pill and a nap calling me! Love you all so very much!!

    Until next time! Tata

    I'm baaaack!!

I forgot to give everyone an update on my Mom! Sssesh

She is home and back to her old self!

They never found what the problem was even after two radioactive bleed tests?? I think she just wanted attention and we both decided there were easier ways of doing it lol

We've had 3 visits from family members this year and each time she's ended up in the hospital or nursing facility. She told me she's had enough and asked me to cancel my DS and his families visit next month. I'm not doing it as my DGDs are very worried about me. Their mom and dad are too but the young ones more so. I told her to extra extra extra careful the next few weeks. Besides I can't help her! It may not be enough to keep her out of trouble tho!

    Until next time.... Tata

    Hi dear sweet Lori--

What an eventful week! Surgery, home, drains out, so soon, mom going through things...I hope you are at this moment relaxing or napping and off in la-la land and that when you rise you are refreshed and feel great, and all ready to greet your critters (who have missed you, I'm sure).

I DEFINITELY think that it's true that HEARING about stuff that needs doing is far harder than the DOING of it. I think it's because when we're DOING stuff we're active and PART of it instead of OUTSIDE of it and feeling, therefore, kind of helpless--an observer, someone on the sidewalk. Because when we're part of it we can at least DO things--ease a sore spot, find a new coping skill or more comfortable position, take a needed pill, find a cool side to the pillow, call a friend, shed a tear, hug a beloved pet, child, or mate, grab the TV remote and snap on some dumb show we love, open a book with an enticing cover showing a strapping Italian ravishing an impossibly beautiful blonde, yell at the moon, sip another Mimosa, laugh at a dumb joke, hear a dirty one ( one of my favorites: how do you make love to a fat lady? Roll her in flour and look for the wet spot) (my mom and I used to howl over this, getting so red-faced I think both our blood pressure's soared.).

DOING involves the muscles and I think anytime you involve the muscles you ease stress. Like a walk will ease tension....

I'm glad to hear your mom's doing well. It sounds as if you've figured out something of what's going on with her. (I hope you don't cancel those visits next month.)image

Here's a shot of Miss Panty playing in the box the blocks were just dumped out of. (She sends her best, by the way.)

    love you so! t

Wow! That's a lot of blocks Trill! My GrandAngels loved the blocks. It kept them busy for 15, 20 mins at a time. Fun, fun, fun! My GS Jayce wouldn't let me out of his sight :-)

Thank you for all the well wishes! I'm pretty beat up this morning but in a happy place :-)

I haven't had the energy to feed all of my critters but my hubby has taken over for me. He's been my Hero through all of this.

I'm pretty tired so I'm off to snuggle up with my blankie and a pain pill!

    Until next time... Tata

Ah, I so want to just get my hands on all of those blocks! How fun. Miss Panty looks very happy. Less than a week until my surgery. Ugh, I am both happy to get it done and dreading the pain.

Molly, Wow! After 3 surgeries I think I'd be feeling the same way you are! My prayers for you continue and I'll be in your pocket when your big day comes. 🙏🙏

Hi dear Molly--I forgot you were having surgery. I'll be thinking of you all next week.

I know what you mean about wanting to get your hands on those blocks. Last winter, right after my BMX surgery, I had my brothers and one brother's gal friend for a day-after-Christmas dinner and get-together. The blocks were (as they are right now) stacked on eleven boards in the living room, while a hundred or so were laid out on the floor in front of them--a little "sidewalk" for Panty to sleep on. Suddenly for the heck of it I just felt like doing what you just wrote--getting my hands on them! I just lifted each layer of blocks and dumped them on the floor, did all eleven until there was this huge mound in front of us. We ran our hands through them and generally had fun, like kids, for hours...but what a "mess" I had on my hands when everybody left--and Panty was no help whatsoever...

One day a good while ago I took them and decided to make a pyramid out of them. It was amazing how soon I was up to the top of this pretty large pyramid in the middle of the rug and yet I'd only used about a quarter of the blocks. Now, with 2,700, I'd have to start out with a square the size of the ROOM to get all of them in a pyramid shape!

Lori--Your critters may lose a bit of weight with you not out there with them filling that bowl with scrumptious Menards!! (sp?) And now that I think about it, your raccoons looked rather plump.....I can see you going out one day to check on them and seeing them all up on their rear legs, strutting around by the fire pit, smoking cigarettes and wearing these high-fashion outfits and big old ugly gilded gladiator sandals and being all anorectic, showing their nipples and frowning like the models in Vogue and all full of attitude....

    Supermodel raccoons!

Lori, Congrats on getting the drains out. That has to be a relief.

Molly, good luck with your surgery next week.

Trill, I had a good laugh at your dirty joke. And I, too, want to sit on the floor and play with all those blocks. I'll just have to get mine out and play with it for a few minutes. Miss Panty looked like she was enjoying the box.

    DisneyGirl--

She was loving the box, turned herself upside-down in it...

I sometimes take out my folding block and just let it turn and turn in my hands like a little machine running itself...which in a way it is...

Hi everyone, i hope everyone is doing well. I'm a bit behind but I'll catch up once everything falls into place.

I had a 3 hour appt with my oncologist yesterday. I was hoping to pass on chemo and rads but they are both highly recommended. So here we go! One breath at a time, once I get the hang of that then I'll start taking one step at a time!

I'm scheduled for port placement on 7/29 at 8 am. I'll do everything I can to make it feel welcome... What else can I do? LOL

Hi Lori-- So good to hear from you!....I was missing your posts here but knew you'd get in touch sooner or later to let us know how your healing is coming.....am sure you're mentally busy absorbing up-coming events...your plate is quite full! But I know you by now and know you will breeze through this next chapter...

I don't know how the weather is out in Indiana but we're anticipating one of those July scorchers this weekend. I think it's gonna hit 100 Sunday and that's NOT counting humidity!!! Aye aye!! Windows will stay shut, blinds down, curtains closed, the whole nine yards.

To that end and figuring it's gonna be dark and hot in here for at least a few days I ordered MORE BLOCKS!! I have eight large 6" blocks that now have two layers of decoration but to work on them I need to lay down plastic sheeting on the bed and pretty much "set up shop" in a biggish way....working on the teeny-tiny blocks is so easy by comparison....just pull a tray of blank blocks onto the bed in front of me and take up the paint holder thingy and have at it! I love the easy-access and setup with the small blocks!! It's like knitting for other people---soothing but at the same time stimulating. I hope that after your grandkids played with them your tumbling blocks are still in one piece.

    OK--hope you're feeling pretty chipper--you SOUND chipper!

Hi Molly-- Will be thinking of you Friday--I know you'll do fine!

Miss Pantaloon is now "kneading dough" on my bed...she found my cool gel pad and is working her paws away on it...just hope she doesn't prick holes in it! I stick the pad in the fridge and when I turn in put it on my pillow and it feels so great to flop down on it! Think it would be great also placed against healing chests...I used my old one after BMX in the winter and it was so soothing...

love to all--t and Miss P

    Hi everyone!

The heat has hit us just as our AC went out. Luckily I set up my recovery area in the room with 2 big ceiling fans. I'm very comfy :-)

Thank you for all the well wishes! I still haven't gone back to see how everyone is doing but I'll get there!

I was able to take a walk to the mailbox today and it's quite the walk! I took a few pics of my flowers that have decided to bloom without me.

I had my first fill on Thursday and it wasn't bad at all. Until this morning! I feel like I've been hanging from a tree limb all day and my chest muscles are pretty sore. BUT, I now have foobs!! I haven't had perky boobs since I was 18! The best part is they are on my chest and not sitting on my tummy!! Think positive! Think positive!

Hi Lori--- You sound like your old self...

    Wait a minute.

    Why do we say that?

As opposed to "you sound like your YOUNG self"?

I mean, who wants to sound like their OLD self?

(Interesting--the things we say all the time without thinking about them...)

Lori, you do sound GREAT! Oxycodone brain or not, you brought a smile as I pictured you with your perky new boobs heading for the mailbox. Bet the neighbors were like, "Who's that hot babe strolling over there on our neighbors' property??"

My therapist is trying her best to get me to go bra-less...just let things go and not worry about it. Thing is, that's hard to do! I feel TEN TIMES more naked without a bra than without a shirt on! But the other day I dug out a BLOUSE instead of a t-shirt and the flow-y top kinda hid the blank chest..

Will take some getting used to, that's for sure!

    I love your flower photos!

O for an overhead fan!! I hope your a/c is--or is planned to be--gonna be well soon...in Salisbury I had a nice ceiling fan and that made more difference to me than the a/c window unit...

Panty is stretched out on the bathroom tiles....wise girl....

I hope your critters are seeing that you are out and about again.

Then again, they may not recognize this

PERKY BOOBED CHIC FLOATING AROUND IN THEIR PRIVATE PEACEABLE KINGDOM!

    Keep cool!

    Love to All!
