Anyone has mets to pericardium?

hello ladies I just came back from the ER because I was having pain in the chest I did a cat-scan and now they're saying I have a small nodule on my pericardium which to me sounds insane because I w have been declared ned 2 months ago I am triple positive and currently on herceptin and perjeta zoloadex and anastrozole tumor markers are still very low has this happened to anyone or heard of this and if so what was your treatment plan?

    HI Dezy Marie,

    Yes, I've had some minor pericardial effusion a couple of times and had a dear friend whose rectal cancer recurred as pericardial effusion.

    It's really important to know the signs and symptoms of severe pericardial effusion aka cardial tamponade as it's a life-threatening emergency that needs immediate medical attention.

    My friend was able to get a pericardial window that drained the fluid from the sac around her lung into her chest. Mine cleared as the MBC and pleural effusion were relieved.

    Not to frighten you, but this can be serious if it progresses.

    Fingers crossed that your treatment plan is adjusted to meet this challenge. Do let us know what you decide with your oncologist.

    thank you for responding, I dont have fluid around the heart its looks like a soft tissue 9mm nodule :( i do have a small plueral effusion and 3 lymph nodes enlarged, feeling so sad and defeated

    Hi Dezy Marie,

    Yes, to go from NED two months ago to a small nodule in a bad location is scary!

    Take the time to feel that, but also remember you are not defeated.

    May it be a bump in your cancer road that your oncologist and you recover from with graceful ease.

    I am very sorry to hear your news. You may want to have the nodules or pleural effusion analyzed for ER, PR, and HER2 status, as they may have a different profile than your other mets. In addition, you might wish to consider asking about Androgen Receptor (AR) status, as there are some promising clinical trials that target AR in a similar manner as today's hormonal therapy targets ER.
