Transcendental Meditation?
Hi Ladies...I went to an info session today (for Mother's day...with my 18 yo daughter!) on TM. No, I'm not expecting it to miraculously cure me, but I am thinking that it might be a valuable tool in the arsenal. I've always been a big believer in the value of the increment...1% here, 1% there, and all of a sudden it makes a real difference! Stress reduction and connectedness are key, I think, for living and for dying, so I'm game. Does anyone have experience with this? Is anyone interested in hearing about my experience, as it occurs?
Lots of love, and a special shout out for M's day!

Hello, TM is certainly a well respected form of meditation, and I have good friends who are very involved with the TM community. However, it is a global organisation and there will be quite a hefty fee charged to teach you TM. Have a look around locally, you will I am sure be able to find groups in your neighbourhood or town that will teach meditation for a small fee or even for free. Some groups may be Bhuddist, or associated with a faith, and some groups will be secular, probably using mindfulness as the meditation tool. An eight week mindfulness course will help you to develop a meditation practice with support.
Mediation is a great thing to do. There are many different approaches, all usually working with the breath or a mantra or just the awareness that comes from sitting still. There are free mediation timer aps that can be downloaded to your phone, and many mediation tutorials and guided mediations available for free online via you tube. You should be able to learn to meditate without having to spend a lot of money. The benefits of meditation, guided visualisation and relaxation have really helped me cope with a difficult situation. I hope that you enjoy the new path you are on, and that mediation helps to bring your mind to a peaceful place. Hope this is helpful. Boo :-)

I would be interested in hearing about your experience.
My parents have been doing it since before I was born. Over the years, I have done it a bit, moreso when I was a kid. I have been thinking about trying it again. I do pray, which I view as a form of meditation, and which brings me similar relaxation, calmness and positive feeling results. Would like to do more meditation, in whatever form.

Hi!
As a person eith yoga & meditation background, I can say it works.. At least is worth trying. As for yoga and other Far Eastern practices.. İt's best to consult with proffesionals and act upon their advice. In my case, yoga and any other lymth effecting activity is forbidden as the lymth sustem is the highway of the c-buggers and we don't want to open the traffic jam for them
doc simply explained. Sounded rational. Breathing exercices & meditation is highly suggested..
Hugs
