Chemo Acne??

I've only had 2 rounds of chemo (3 but allergic reaction to taxol) and my face looks like a 13 year old girl. it's bad enough I'm losing my hair, but now this? The hair I can deal with, it's just hair and it'll go back, but that acne makes me feel ugly. I know it's horrible to say but it's true.

Any advice? Is there a facial cleanser I use or something I need to talk to my MO about? I have chemo tomorrow and will talk to my nurse about tomorrow.

Thanks in advance.

I have it, are you on any other meds?

My acne is a teenager, red and white heads...gross.

I use a face scrub daily and clindamycin 1% gel both 2x daily. It helped a lot.

I'm on Keppra (for the seizure I had/brain lesion), omeprazole, zofran/compazine as needed. Also Ativan. I'm pretty sure it's from the chemo. Just glad to know I'm not alone.

Lainie- Do they give you any steroids (either oral or IV as a pre-med)? When I first started on Taxol, I was on 'roids, and it made me unbelievably break out. Once my body got used to it a little, my skin calmed down. Hopefully that will be the case for you too. It is also a good as reason as any to treat yourself to a facial!
