Metastatic BC in spine with sciatica

I had a back fusion in Feb., 2013 and 4 months later started having bladder problems. After months of trying this med and that med and finally an MRI I was diagnosed with met of the bones, bladder and ovaries on October 1st, 2013. I have been suffering with sciatica for a very long time. I have had two epidurals since November, 2015. The first one worked great but the second one gave me no relief. The pain management dr. had a really hard time with the epidurals because of the fusion. My last epidural was one month ago. The pain is getting so bad I have a hard time walking. I was wondering if anyone else has had this or if anyone can offer suggestions. Thank you for your time.

    I'm sorry you are having so much pain. I currently have a tumor pressing on the bottom of my spine that is giving me sciatica and back/hip pain. I start radiation on it tomorrow and the radiation doctor as well as my regular oncologist both feel confident that radiating the area will give me immense pain relief. Has anyone suggested radiation to you? I'm not sure from your post if your sciatica is related to the fusion or the bone mets, so maybe radiation is way off course, but I wanted to mention it.

    My onc has also suggested alternative therapies such as acupuncture. Maybe something to try?

    I'm sorry. I hope you find some relief soon. Pain just sucks.
