Raloxfene vs Tamoxifen

Options

I recently had a bil mastectomy doing great. I only had microinvasive ductal cancer and very very small.  At my check they said I would not need radiation, chemo or go on tax.  They called back later and the surgeon has decided it would be good to go on tax after all or femara.  I have osteo and hardly afford any more bone loss.  I have heard about Raloxfene and wondered if anyone else is on it or knows anything about it.

I don't know much about Raloxfene, other than it is a SERM like Tamoxifen but Raloxifene is not generally offered as a first choice to early stage BC patients for whatever reason. If I'm reading this right, you've been offered either tamoxifen or femara. Tamoxifen is not generally associated with bone loss, so if that is of primary concern and you are given a choice, you might want to go with the Tamoxifen. Tamoxifen and AI therapy (like femara) have different side effect profiles. If possible, it would be good to discuss the pros and cons of each with your oncologist before signing up for one or the other.

    Tamoxifen may strengthen bones.
