    Hi Ladies,

I was wondering if any of you have had a second PET scan after finishing chemo, surgery and radiation. I have one on Tuesday and I am hoping that is my golden ticket. Kind of nervous about it. I probably won't get the results till Aug 12th when I see my MO.

Hi Marisa. I had a nodule on my lung 6 months ago that MO wanted to check out after chemo, surgery and rads. She did a lung CT scan in June and although the original nodule was gone, there were several more, plus a big area they called an opacity. She then did a PET scan, which the RO said showed "normal" radiation damage called radiation pneumonitis.

I was super nervous about it, too. Xanax helped me through those days. I can tell you that my MO called me at 7:30 the night of my CT scan, to tell me the results and that she was ordering the PET scan. I would call the office for the results--it seems like waiting until 8/12 is a really long time.

Good luck and please let us know how it goes! Kelly

It has been a crazy August with work and everything! But I did get good news that I am NED!!

Audra, what is the link or name of the Facebook page? I would love to meet for lunch sometime!

Has anyone had nipple reconstruction?? I am having it done on September 3rd. My PS is also swapping out my implants for a little bit bigger ones because what I got at the time of my bilateral were smaller.

Marisa, first, congratulations on the NED news!!!  That's wonderful!!!  Second, the FB group is private, so we will need to get one of the moderators to invite you.  I will let them know.  Finally, Kbeee had nipple recon.  She is on FB and I'm sure can answer questions for you once you get over there (unless she sees this first).  Also, I'd be interested in your implant swap experience after it happens.  I had immediate implants too, and my PS mentioned that we could swap out later like you're doing.  Trying to determine whether it would be worth it.

I will let you know on the swap out. He said I should be much happier with the shape and the look afterwards. Because honestly they look kind of awkward right now. Lol.

So I've been off the radar for about a month.  Been really busy getting the garden in the freezer along with pies & pre-made meals for days when i'm tired.  I've also been battling bronchitis for weeks now.

I have had the strangest thing happen this week though.  On Tuesday I went & got my very 1st tattoo. I want more.  I for some reason feel very liberated, like a huge weight has been lifted off me.  I'm happier than I've been in years.  I'm in the kitchen baking , with my Snoop dog & Eminem playing loud, dancing. I'm in the best mood ever.  I can't explain the reasoning, maybe upcoming 60th b-day?  Or just doing something that I had total control over?  Don't know what or why but it feels GREAT.

I am sadden to report that a wonderful member of this group VintageGal1111 passed away yesterday from breast cancer. Approximately five months ago, she was diagnosed with pleural effusion and last month it was determined she had brain mets. Here is a picture of her taken shortly before her bc journey started.

Thank you Simple for posting Lyn's photo.

Kbeee I am so sorry about your recurrance. I think the skull cap is a great idea and tribute to Lyn. I was reading in your bio line that you are getting ACT this time. How did you do on the previous cocktail of chemo?

Meadow, I did ok on TC. I was admitted once for a neutropenic fever, but I generally did ok. The fatigue was the worst, and the general "yuk" feeling. I did bounce back pretty quickly. I know it will be rougher this time, but I am glad they are being aggressive

For those not in the Facebook group, there are several ladies in our Sept 13 group who need extra prayers right now for metastasis, upcoming biopsies for metastasis, and craptastic decisions by family members. Appreciate all good thoughts for the folks in our group. We've been hit hard lately.

Thanks for the post, Kbee. I came here to do the same thing. It's been a rough time for so many members in our group lately.

If anyone from the old September 2013 group wants to join us over on the Facebook group, just pm Kbee or me and we will get you connected up. It's been a wonderful way to stay in touch and support each other.
