Losing my mind
I am starting to have blank spots in my mind. What was I doing? What did that person just say? The worst thing I notice is dates and times. You can tell me a time for something and within 1 minute, I will not remember what you said. It is awful. I have noticed in the last few weeks, I do something and never remember doing it. I lost an hour today and no idea what I did. I had to go to an event and fixed up my hair, then part way thru the event, I realized I put it up in a pony tail, no memory of doing that. I signed up my daughter for a new online school and 45 days went by before I realized it and had to sign her up all over again because i never finished the registration.
I also used to sleep about 6 hours a day. Now I can easily sleep 12-14. And go back to sleep a few hours later. Ladies, I am honestly freaked out.
Some may remember my dilemma about my oncologist leaving and the hospital having only locums or my old oncologist (who lied to me) available until they found a new one. They only want to see people in active chemo right now because they are short staffed. They did find a new one, coming from another state, but he starts in May. It's Dr Shah from Idaho, so if anyone has any info on him, please share.
There is another thing that is troubling me. I had some scans before my oncologist left. He stated there were two small areas of maybe cancer/maybe not and that we would watch them. Then he told me about leaving and I think it was so surprised, I didn't really question anything. I think I am afraid he didn't really want to address the two spots, since he was leaving, and was leaving it for the next guy to deal with.
I hope I remember writing this!

Can you make an appointment with another kind of physician? Like a general practioner, nurse practioner or something similar ? Scans need to be looked at along with report. And if possible follow up with some of the things you are experiencing in your body. A general practioner or family doc can get results and be helpful if you need more care.

I agree with Diane. Maybe seek help from a different source. You definitely need your symptoms checked out and I would also question your previous scans. Hopefully it won't be anything, but you need to know so you can quit worrying. Hoping and wishing you the best.

I just got out of the hospital with c-diff and it had ome of those same symptoms .I felt like I was lodeing my mind .I was seeing bugs flying around it was terriblr , but it was a infection that almost killed me .I was so scared n fact Im still on 2 different high antibiotics and will be for awhile . so you should really get that checked . I don't want to scare you but I didn't even remember the things I was doing .but it was a combination of the medicines and infection and boy I thought I waslosing my mind .I hope it gets better and let us know ....love chris

I fourth the idea that you need to see a doctor. Doesn't necessarily need to be an oncologist, but someone you can trust not to turf you off with "you need to see your oncologist".
We all have moments of forgetting, but what you describe sounds like black holes. My Mom had these and they turned out to be small seizures. (She takes seizure meds and is fine now)

agh. It is hard enough to get though this with a treatment team you like and trust. I am sorry you are going though this. I wonder if you can get to Seattle for a one time second opinion consultation with Fred Hutchinson/SCCA to make sure treatment is on track. Sending you thoughts of peace.

HI MzMerz,
Though we haven't personally met, I was touched by your SOS and wonder how you're doing now.
Continued healing thoughts for you!
Do check in and let us know how you're doing.
