nbi, i hope you find a group. How far from Milwaukee are you? I know CSM has a support at the hospital on North. St. Lukes on the South side probably does as well. Good luck.
Badger, i hope your move goes well. You should be starting to be settled in now. Maybe then you'll have a chance to breathe. LOL
Enjoying the 60 degree temp today. All our snow we got last week melted over night.
Much love
-
hi, we're in the new house and getting settled in. Will take a while to get it all in place but a fun job.
Saw my 1st robin on Sun and the 1st orange road construction barrels on Mon. Sure signs of Spring!
-
Congrats on getting through the move, badger!
Welcome to the other Wisconsin season. Either winter or construction! haha
-
Hey, what happened to the "Help Me Get Through Treatment" forum? Almost could not find this thread!
Wanted to let the SE Wisconsinites know that Dr Hijjawi, our beloved reconstruction surgeon, is moving to Utah this summer. Don't know who I'm going to refer people to once he leaves but I suppose he's trained enough fellows that Froedtert should have someone qualified to take over...
Hit the 5 year since diagnosis mark this week. Funny how March 8 was also a Tuesday in 2011 🎻
-
Oh NO! I never put doctors on a pedestal, but HE is my hero! Sorry to see him leave :-(
-
Congratulations on 5 years out.
-
vnlph! Congratulations on 5 years!
-
hi all and congrats on 5 years out, Mary! I was confused about the forum name change too.
Really pretty morning which is a blessing as I'm helping a friend move, into the house we sold her! ♥
-
Enjoying the nice temps that you gals have sent my way. Have had a few chances to open a window and let fresh air in!
-
Just noticed another forum name change. It happened between now and when I posted this morning!
-
Ah-hah! Reminds me of OldSpeak and NewSpeak.
-
Did anyone get to the St. Patrick's Day parade last weekend in downtown Milwaukee? What a beautiful day, warm and sunny. I love hearing the kids having a good time and seeing all of the families out. I am really enjoying the mild start to this spring
-
hi all, I've never been to the St. Patrick's Day parade in Milw but would like to, especially after hearing this lovely story on WPR. Listen to the audio clip!
-
March 18 in Bayfield.
-
Pretty pic! Cold & gray here today and may rain unlike northern WI where I heard they got a foot of snow. Good weekend to spend "nesting". Haven't done much unpacking the last week or two as just swamped with other activities of daily living especially my job. Got several boxes of glassware to unpack and wash before putting away. Go Badgers!
-
Happy Spring! 24 degres but the sun is shining!
-
Hearing some frozen pieces of rain outside. Hubby made it ok to Madison this morning so I decided to hibernate and catch up here. Had to do a search to find this thread! Need to get out to a rehearsal later which means I should also be looking at my music...
-
Here's what we had yesterday.
-
We ended up with 6 inches on Thursday...All gone now:)
-
Thurs was bad here too - thunder & lightning, sleet & freezing rain. I brought work home so didn't have to drive anywhere TG. It's all melted now. Hostas are coming up in the front yard and it looks like the iris we transplanted in Nov made it through the winter.

Hi Badger and everyone.... I hope the weather has turned to spring at last.
I am five years out. I had chemo before my July 2011 operation, then more chemo and radiation. It is hard to believe five years has come and gone..... Where did time go.
My life has changed in many ways - some good and some not so good. But it is what it is. I do come back in every so often and lurk and remember some of the people who were here when I was in treatment.
I hope that everyone is getting on - and I wonder if it is time to do a roll call....
-
hi Paula, congrats on five years out! Thread's not busy so hope everyone is doing OK.
Taking mom to the Stoughton Opera House tonight to see Cantus Vocal Ensemble. Didn't cost extra so got box seats with cushy velvet chairs. Have never had such elegant seats so will be a real treat, as will be the music and the setting. For those unfamiliar with this landmark, the community pitched in and without any tax money restored a 1901 Opera House. The décor is fabulous and the acoustics are sublime.
Here's a link to Cantus singing Simple Gifts on Twin Cities Public TV. Gorgeous!

oh and a fun one for you, Mary, called Fiddle Tune https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCITYzdx72o

Enjoy Badger! That sounds wonderful!
-
Oh it was fabulous! Headed back tomorrow night for something completely different, Bluegrass!
Just posted this haiku on Monica's thread and thought I'd share it here too.
The circus left town.
Moved on to greener pastures.
Watch out for cow pies!
-
hi all, hope this finds everyone doing OK. What happened to 75 and sunny?
-
wisconsin wood violet i the park on Sunday
-
The other state flower makes a fine jelly
-
Ain't it the truth?
-
That Creeping Charlie (wood violet) is my nemesis this spring. It's taking over my lawn in the back yard!
-
Onco- it's been like that here in my area too. Was only in the high 50s
