Beautiful spring night watching darling daughter play softball....stadium seat, turtle neck sweater, sweatshirt, hat, gloves and blanket....I could definitely stand more warmth.

Hi moonflower and zogo. I have both creeping charlie and wood violets.
Just to clarify, they are not the same plants.
Glechoma hederacea is an aromatic, perennial, evergreen creeper of the mint family Lamiaceae. It is commonly known as ground-ivy, gill-over-the-ground, creeping charlie, alehoof, tunhoof, catsfoot, field balm, and run-away-robin.
Viola sororia, known commonly as the common blue violet, is a stemless herbaceous perennial plant that is native to eastern North America. It is known by a number of common names, including common meadow violet, purple violet, the lesbian flower, woolly blue violet, hooded violet, and wood violet.
It is the state flower of Wisconsin.
This season does seem to be very good for them both. Maybe the cool spring?

Thanks for the clarification onco. Seems I've got both! Annoying as all get out.

Hello ladies from WI. I live in Wind Lake, just outside of Muskego. Newer to the boards. Glad (in a comradery kind of way) to see other Wisconsinites. I have not found much support in my area and was looking.
Looking forward to warmth and festivities in our great state

Hi Milwmama, (cute handle!)
I am in Franklin, so we are practically neighbors.
I shall send you a message.

Hey Milwmama,
Born in Superior, but living in Connecticut right now.
-
hi Milwmama and welcome! I'm in SW WI in the beautiful Driftless Region but work in Madison.
-
Hello everyone. Hope you all got to enjoy the perfect weekend. Went for a motorcycle ride with the hubby and had a great "normal" time.
Looking forward to more now that Spring has finally shown up.
First church festival of the season with my favorite local band Rhythm Method is this weekend at Immaculate Heart. My annual official start of summer fun.
👍👍
-
Band called "Rhythm Method" at a Catholic church picnic . . .
Priceless!
-
We LOVE live music and see it every chance we get. Rhythm Method is very good!
Summerfest is right around the corner...Yay!
-
hahaha! Onc, good one!
finally warm weather!! add some T-storms & it will finally feel like spring in Wisconsin! Creeping Charlie all over the yard here too, dastardly vine-y thing! but navigating the yard & bending to pull it out are good for getting my balance back. Just feels good to be outside in the sunshine ( without a coat)
Joined the Wellness center in Burlington so I'm finally back in the pool! hoping to ease this breast pain that has ramped itself up in the last year
this I do not need...
hope you are all enjoying weather...still looking for local support group also..
-
Mikwmom, hello from just north of MKE in Port Washington.
Our lilacs are just starting to blossom. It was warm today though it started this afternoon.

Lilacs are past peak here but they were glorious while they lasted. ♥

-
My lilacs are beautiful now. Wish they lasted all Summer.
Once-Even funnier all the drunks at a church festival. Only in Wisconsin. We love our beer
-
Yep, we do!
-
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm digging this WI weather. Hope everyone is doing well. Fingers crossed for higher white cell counts today so I can continue on my "adventure".
-
Drunks at a church festival? Imagine that! Used to be a church and a bar on every corner!
Yes, this weather is awesome! This is exactly why we endure the winters :-)
-
We are in the perfect spring/summer season now. Let's all enjoy.
If any of you go to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, they just put up a photo collection of works from the Expressive Arts department (a/k/a Art Therapy). This is in the approach area where there are those little alcoves with small table and chairs. My collage is one of them. I posted as Natasha OncoWarrior.

Putting in a good word for art therapy here.
For those in the Milwaukee area and nearby, St Luke's hospital has art therapy ("Expressive Arts") open studio 2nd and 4th Fridays between 2pm and 7pm.
Come on down and de-stress. It's fun.
Here's a link to an article about art therapy:
