Alendronate Vitamin D

Hi ,

Thanks for reading my post and thanks for always being helpful.

My mom had caner Stage IIIB . Its almost 3 years she done with treatment . She is taking Arimedix . She just had bone dentistry . Now , Her Oncologist recommend her to take Alendronate . Has any one experience of Alendronate?

Also , I am interested to know is Vitamin D helpful to stop recurrence ?

    According to Johns Hopkins: "It is not known yet if taking vitamin D supplements after breast cancer will reduce your chances of recurrences in the future".

    I have had to take Vit. D suppliments for going on 20 yrs because of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) because of where I live. I also use a light box daily from late Aug - early June. I started Femara/letrozole 6 yrs ago. I had been osteopenia to many years (huge family HX) but 4 or 5 yrs ago went to osteoporosis and have been on Fosamax/alendronate since. There has been no change in the levels I need to take in my Vit. D in that time. Vit. D is very important in so much of overall health but unfortunately it is often overlooked by some Drs.
