20 Questions

13. Written for adults.
-
Request for clarification: "written for adults" meaning the quote itself or the larger work in which the quote was found?
-
The larger work is for adults, queen.
I'm seeing some problematic issues with trying to do a quote. Right now this round seems like it's aiming for an author and I don't see how we can reach the actual quote in the remaining 7 out of 20 questions (Unless, of course, you truly are mind readers!!!).
Are those of you participating feeling frustrated? If so, I can give some big hints and see where that leads.
-
Yes, clue please. Maybe one word in the quote?
-
The clue for me comes down to (and i hope this comes out right): what should I be asking?
What's the character trait?
Would we recall the quote from a movie? a television or radio show?
Has the quote, or the author, been in the news recently?
Although rest assured: I'm still having fun doing this!
-
Off to bed for me now (sorry, Lover!)
-
Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps quotes will have to be left for a 40 question vs. 20 question game!!!
Maybe let's add a couple of questions after the following big hints and see where that goes!! Thanks for hanging in there!!
HINT: Most would remember the quote from the movie, not the book from which it originated.
HINT2: The movie is a classic oldie!
If those don't get us on a track to success, I'll give one of the words from the quote and also list the character trait. OK?
-
Sounds fair. Good night Queenie! I will try not to waste a question.
"Perhaps quotes will have to be left for a 40 question vs. 20 question game!!!" Funny you mentioned that because I was just thinking about the same thing. No, stumped, but not frustrated yet. Don't want to keep you up. Off to finding thatelusive quote.
-
LL, I'm off to bed myself but will be back Sunday afternoon. Don't spend too much time finding a quote. We'll finish up quickly tomorrow with some very generous hints and, I hope, some fun!!! Today was too much slog through the bog!!!
-
Awake, and thinking.
-
Ceanna, Don't be too critical, it doesn't always go super smoothly but that's ok. I think it is good to try different things.
I was thinking of asking if a particular word is in the quote???
and I thought of a quote also... "We're our own worst critics" but there are too many words in that one.
-
Awake too, but leaving for hospital for sinners shortly.
14. Is the quote from Age of Innocence ?
-
Good day everyone. Now back online after church and Sunday dinner.
Sorry for the delay.
Just to recap, 4 word quote originated with female author in book form, made into a movie classic.
I wouldn't spend too much on the character trait. Not really relevant but (New Hint), I would call the trait tenacity.
I will answer LL's question:
14. No, not the Age of Innocence.
Another new Hint: Last line of the movie classic and book.
-
I am not certain what number we are up to but is it:
"Tomorrow is another day.?"
-
ML, YES, Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell was made into movie. Scarlett O'Hara (Vivien Leigh) uttered those famous words!!! "Tomorrow is another day"
Actually, the whole sentence is "After all, tomorrow is another day." See the classic line https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-OoIvgtuzs
Whew!! Glad we're done with the quote. ML, you're up!!!
-
from Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell? I didn't read the movie hint until today. This is the only movie I can think of whose last line is epic. I am sure there are others but I remember this to be huge.
-
Yes, so cool! That was very good after all. I probably did read your hint earlier but once you stated last line I am certain so many here would have thought of the answer. I definitely would like to surrender this to anyone who is willing, I am going out in a little and won't be until 10pm. Ceanna, Do another quote?
-
ML, thanks, but I'm going to pass on doing another quote for awhile!! It turned out okay, but probably needs a little refining before trying again.
Queen, are you up for doing another challenging one--I think I jumped in before you last time!!
-
Ok. If no one starts one tonight, I'll do one tomorrow.
-
I'll see what I can come up with. (and yes, wondering if it was Gone with the Wind myself.)
-
Ceanna, If you like movie quotes in particular I started a thread where you post the quote and then people try to guess which movie it is from. The thread was active but in recent weeks less active. It is fun and it is a much easier scenario then this one (for quotes that is).
-
Good job, ML!!
-
ML, thanks for the suggestion about the other thread. I don't see a lot of movies these days so probably wouldn't be able to identify movie quotes except these old classics. I often think of the "tomorrow is another day" quote when things are tough and I just need to look ahead to something brighter. I'm glad to have "tomorrows!!"

Unfortunately all the pictures/images I have of her as a young woman are in B&W so I'm not sure of the exact color.
