Cats, cats, cats

Awww Stevie. What a good sport.
-
"Iz mai tuna. Git yer own, you %&%*#@!" (Ms. Girl Cat, and her erstwhile brother, Mr. Boy Cat.
-
love it! But queenmomcat how DID you come up with those names?
-
After a great deal of thought, and getting to know the cats.
IDK what their Cat names are but their 'real' Human names are: Zasu Kitts and Bongo, though I'll often call him Pete (after Jsmes Dean's "Pete the Cat" picture books) Bongo considers me his human, while Zasu owns my husband.
-
I'm 92% sure I posted this one already....but someone else asked in a non-cat forum.
-
Muffy, my little shoe fashionista!
-
Queen, one of my DDs has a "kitler" cat. He goes by Henriech von Wiskers.
-
Zasu
Bongo
Muffy
-
Muffy: "Do you have this in a 7.5 narrow?"
Feelingfeline: one of Bongo's early nicknames was M'sieu Poirot-nouveau.
-
Muffy is one of our four cat babies, along with Quincy, Leo, and JJ. Breakfast in my house is hilarious as each cat gets a different wet food - kitten, adult, senior and urinary. Trying to keep each eating from the right bowl is FUN!
-
Oh boy. Many years ago I had one cat on a urinary tract diet in a multi-cat household. His name was Marley. He was the only one DIDN'T want to eat the urinary diet.
-
Eesh. Ms. Girl Cat is, in theory, on diet food, but Mr. Boy Cat has a decidedly cavalier attitude toward food. Oh, well. The whole point was to get her to lose weight, and I suspect that chasing Mr. Boy Cat when he looks at her funny will help with that.
-
I thought Ms Girl cat looked a little plump - have a real mushy thing for big cats!
-
Well dear MommaCat you manage to get Der Rosenkavalier in on one thread and a cat with a cavalier attitude in on another, is this a first?
-
-
I swear I didn't plan that conjunction. But I'll take that tiger-striped Marschallin as a putative avatar.
-
A few more for you-hoo
(I'm guessing Tosca for the last one)
Opera cats I have had: Tamino, Tristan, Tosca, Lakme
-
-
DH isn't sure that Tosca is the inspiration for the last 'opera cat' cartoon. Possibly La Boheme?
-
Good thought! Well I just had to find out so I have trawled the net and find that we are both wrong it is Don Carlos Act II ! They are by Susan Herbert (1945-2014). She did ballet cats as well.
Here is Manon Lescaut
and Carmen
I tracked down the Don Carlos image on website of Chris Beetles' art gallery in London. Chris Beetles specialities (among others) include cats and cartoons.
Many years ago when I was living in London I visited Chris Beetles. It was 1990 and I was meeting a friend there to attend an exhibition of art by the famous cat-painting artist Lesley Ann Ivory. Hadn't thought of it in years!
Hope you enjoyed the opera.
-
There are also cats in Musical theatre apparently.
-
-
-
HAHAHAHAHA!
-
(snorts of laughter) Trying to remember where I heard/read the "If your cats aren't sleeping on the radiators, you have the temperature up too high." (in winter). That doesn't apply quite so much with forced-air or baseboard heat, but the cats figure something equivalent out.
-
We have a drop leaf desk close to our heat vent. The bottom part is shelves for books. We had to remove them so our cat could huddle on the bottom shelf with the heat blowing right on her. If you want to find the warmest place in a house, look for the cat.
-
warmest place in the house.... she would hear the thermostat click on & she'd be off the bed & down in front of the fireplace. We had to find a tiny antique fender just to keep her back from the fire.
-
GG, that is an adorable shot of your cat. Are her paws crossed over her chest?
We had a cat that would put his tummy against the floorboards in the summer before the AC was turned on. When he warmed a spot up he would move on down the wall. That's when I knew to turn on the AC.
-
No, her paws are up around the fireplace fender, by her head. She was just a mass of multi coloured long hair, it was sometimes hard to tell which way was up!
-
GG that photo is puddle-of-love inducing - I just melted!
