Nice to see all the good results on this thread recently! Happy for you all and biting our nails right along with all of you waiting.

Scan results tomorrow for my mom. It's especially nerve-wracking since it's her first one since rads and making the switch to IV chemo after progression. Other than leg pain from hip damage that will be getting rads soon too, her symptoms have all resolved so hoping that's good news. At last scan the mets, though extensive, were still just in bones, but some symptoms that started between scans and before rads and new treatment seemed (I think) like those related to liver mets so we're especially on edge about these results.

If stable she will get one more chemo tomorrow and then get a "break" from AC and finally be able to get rads to that hip. Fingers and toes crossed!

CT scan tomorrow. Nerves jangling, I'm afraid to think. Dh's friend's wife died last night and she was only dx last November. Hate this.

Hope singlemom1 and goldengirls' mom had good results.

Good luck Aoiba! My results were good. There was no progression and a little decrease in one! I wish you all the best, the anxiety can be so difficult!

Just scheduled an Echocardiogram, Pelvic Ultrasound, CT, and Bone Scan. Not to mention the next 2 Herceptin and Perjeta infusions and the 6 week appointment with my Oncologist. Oh the glamorous life of an MBC patient!

I'm not technically waiting yet, but sticking my head in to see how crowded it is here. Can I get anyone a coffee? A Starbucks run maybe? I'll be joining you all soon....

Hoping for good results for all who are waiting.

I had a ct scan on Monday and was dreading the week of waiting for results at my doctors appointment 8 days later. I am going to retire and

apply for social security disability so I thought to ask at the desk about being mailed a copy of the results. She said she would phone me when

the results were typed up and she did, 4 hours later!! Stable, yeah. So nice to have 8 days of anxiety eliminated and even if it was bad news at

least I could research and be prepared before the next appointment. Why isn't it standard practice for the patient to get a copy?!!!

I'm so happy to see good results!!! ย I'll be telling the powers that be we want all good news for you, Shutter...that's quite a laundry list ya got there. ย Most people would wince at 1 procedure but hey...to us, it's another day at the races, right...ugh. ย Thinking of everyone...wishing stable, Ned...you name!!!

I'd like a decaf latte, please. Shutterbug, do you ever add up your appointments to see how many per week you average? I have and it helps explain the state of my house.

Mirryp, it's great you thought to ask for the report. I'm with you; I'd rather get even bad news alone than experience the anxiety of waiting. At the first hospital I went to, they would only give results at appointments, which were very hard to get. So I would make a special trip to get the reports from medical records. My current onc calls me the same day or the next with results and I appreciate that sooo much. Then they always give me a copy at my next appointment.

Aoibean and singlemom, I'm so glad to hear that you had good results.

Got a decaf latte here for ShetlandPony and a big ol' mocha with extra whip for me. Hearty congrats to Aoibean and Singlemom!

Looks like I now have a brain MRI to add to the list. When you wake up several times over the past month or so smelling toast and no one in the house is making toast your doctor has you scheduled for an MRI faster than you can say craptastic. Wednesday morning, 7:40 arrival.

At work now trying to concentrate and not cry. Looking forward to getting home and leaning on my friend Ativan. I intend to sleep tonight.

Anyone know how long it should be to get results back from a Brain MRI? I had one at diagnosis that was negative, but i was pretty out of it trying to come to terms with the enormity of everything back then, so I don't remember.

Hi Shutter - I also just went through this because I was having unexplainable headaches. I waited almost a month before my doctor got it ordered and I think it's been one of the more difficult months mentally for me since diagnosis. I went in to get the MRI in the morning and my onc called that afternoon with the results so it was very quick. Luckily it was clear for me and I'm hoping it is for you as well. Hang in there as I know the stress and anxiety can be a b*tch as we have to continually go through these scans. you will bein my prayers tonight.

Can I just say shit? ย My darling Shutter will totally get it (as my fingers maybe have misspelled her name at least once...lol). I refuse to believe there's anything wonky with your brain! ย Maybe you're dreaming of some fabulous breakfast place in a Paris bistro...that smell must be delicious. ย In any case, I gave up chocolate for Lent & I just ate choc-covered almonds, because that makes me feel better. ย I will be praying like a saint for good news Wed! ย And Jos & Becs...so extremely happy that your scans were clear. ย Love you all.

Thanks everyone and thanks for the laugh Ronnie! Believe me I've been stress eating enough chocolate for both of us!

It's funny how I was totally NOT worried until they said they wanted to do an MRI, then I freaked out for a bit, and now I am somewhere in the middle. Cautiously optimistic that it is just one of the wacko things my body does. I also read somewhere that inflamed nasal passages can cause phantom smells as well, so I'm holding on to that. :)

Shutter, My MRI took one day for results. A very long day for sure. But try not to stress too much, many things can trigger this suspicion. Let us know, we are thinking of you!

Just woke up (to the same Fixer Upper episode I fell asleep to hours ago!) and poppin in to say we'll all be with you at 7:30 am (4:30 am for Artist & me...hmmm..thinking Michigan is only 2 hrs ahead). ย Anyhoo...inflamed nasal passages sound like a perjeta se to me so I'm going with that! ย I've wanted a brain mri for about 2 years now & neither onc will do it. ย Guess I should be relieved but there's always the fear & anxiety that comes with not knowing exactly what's going on in our bodies. ย Whenever I'm in the security scanner at the airport, I think of how nice it'd be if that was how we had a full body scan. Step in, arms up, spread your legs, done! ย Someday :-). XOXO

Thanks for your good thoughts everyone, I definitely felt them in the MRI machine, along with all the clanking and hammering! I should get results on Monday.

Love the airport scan idea Ronnie Kay. Lickety split as my grandma would say. Instant results would be good too!

    Love to all!

PS. Gee, this is the first time I'm signing my real name. It feels strange. In the beginning I didn't want anyone to google my unique name and find my posts, but I guess I don't care anymore! An open book...that's me! :)

I wonder why some of us get a brain MRI as routine metastatic screening, at least once at the beginning and others of us only if we are symptomatic. I am scared to ask for one, terrified of the results. Shutter it will be good to have that question answered!

    Hugs to you all!

Came in for my Herceptin and my infusion nurse asked if I'd gotten a call with results yet. I said no and she said I can tell you it is NORMAL! What a relief! I almost started to cry! Thank you for the support ladies.

Becs - you are on my mind and in my heart this week. Sending love

Becs thinking about you. Sending good vibes.

This afternoon meeting with onc for results of brain MRI, chest and abdomen. 5 months of gemzar. Hoping liver mets and kidney mets responded. Nerve wracking. Get rid of those pesky cancer cells. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

    Best to all.

    Diana.
