There wouldn't be a story if she does. Don't worry

I have a small collection of Whiting and Davis and Mandalian mesh purses, many of them dating from 1900-1940. My own little bits of Downton style 😊

And, it appears that Anna will not miscarry

    Very worried about Robert!

Glad Anna seems OK, and the newlyweds arrived home safely.

I really enjoyed them discussing Lady Sybil. I miss her character.

Also happy for Mr. Mason and Daisy, looks like she might end up with the new footman?

This last season looks like it will definately be a roller coaster!

NewDay, ha, ha, love your "who needs real life anyway?" Indeed!

    I just LOVE this show.

The music sets the tone so incredibly perfectly.

The sets are such a feast for the eyes. The room in London that Lady Mary was sitting in while waiting to get word from the doctor about Anna's procedure was simply stunning.

I really liked the storyline of Gwen, the maid who improved her lot in life thanks to Sybil, how they brought that all full circle.

Oh, dear, tho. What about that scene from next week's episode with the racing cars? Will it lead to some sort of devastating accident? I can hardly imagine Mary wanting to be with a man who races cars after Matthew's accident.

Barrow just can't get out of his own way. His meanness outed by Lord Grantham....how embarrassing for him. I really didn't think that Lord Grantham was correct in his description of Carson as a kind person. Carson is really quite mean-spirited to Barrow. Will be interesting to see what happens to Barrow. I hope he finds his way.

Yep, I like how they're not yet tidying up Barrow's storyline. I have loved how they manage to make you hate him one season, then feel badly for him the next and keep repeating the process! (They've done that with several characters). He just seems looking for that lucky break. I hope it works out for him, too.

I have a soft spot for Barrow. Deep down inside, he wants to be good. And just imagine what it would have been like for him back in those days. Very little hope of love.

Loved the scene where Gwen told the others at lunch what Sybil had done for her.

Henry Talbot is fun. I like the fact that neither he nor Mary is disguising the fact that there's a great deal of lust involved.

I liked the joy on Anna and her husband's faces when they both knew her news.

And the clothes are getting better and better! Please, can I have the dowager countess's hat? Or Isabel's? And Mary's dress--the black one? And Cora's blue one?

    Tom needs a girlfriend!

I wish I liked Mary even one little bit so I could enjoy the modernism that she is trying to bring to Downton. The hair cut, the comment about Edith hiring a woman as editor, the lusty affairs she has had and will have. Even her attempts at being less of a snob fall short, it seems to me. Maybe the rest of the season will show a less arrogant and entitled side of Mary so I can enjoy her dalliances more. At the moment, she just reminds me of Catherine the Great! LOL

Mary is certainly Violet's granddaughter ! I think she does realize that she is a snob and not always a nice person. That came across when she compared herself to Sybil.

TheDivineMrsM, yes, love the music and the sets.

Love how they brought Gwen back and did the full-circle thing and had a chance to reflect on what Sybil did, too.

I've loved the changes in the fashion and the haircuts as the years have passed. The attention to details is just lovely. I often pause the show just to look at the background details! :)

Okay, I cheated and purchased the final season which came yesterday. I very much enjoyed the remaining episodes and without giving anything away, think you will too. Let me add that Mary was finally called out by a number of people which was long overdue. What a lovely series this is. I will surely miss the characters, the refinement, the fashions, the manners and etiquette but mostly the diction. I hung on every word. Enjoy!

Just watched episodes 3,4,5 and 6 - WOW!!! I love this show SO much - it hasn't even started here in Australia yet. I always buy it from the UK as soon as it's released - much better than having to put up with advertisements.

Anxiously awaiting tonight's episode. On most Sunday nights, I have dinner with my dd's and granddaughter (girl's night!), however, much as I love them, I make sure to get home in time to watch DA. Yes, I have my DVR set but I like it best in the moment 🤗

I feel lost without any new DA episodes to enjoy. How many of you will start from the beginning and watch the series in its entirety? I may have to start over.

AmyQ, I had started watching from the beginning last January, in time to be caught up by the end of season 5. I was diagnosed in April, and watched the whole thing again from the beginning during my weekly chemo sessions. It became my comfort food--and the hats gave me great inspiration, too.

Enjoying this last season sooooo much!

I know!! I yelped and grabbed my husband's arm. Dear God, I thought Robert was a goner!

Mary is SUCH a bitch. And I wish they would stop casting lookalike actors as her suitors. This new one seems nice but honestly, if you put them all together I couldn't tell him apart.

I couldn't even watch..covered my eyes for that and for the car racing scene! Hoping for no more death and destruction!

On another topic: Tom looks 'off' to me. Not the character, the actor. It's been bugging me. He seems heavy and puffed up, sort of a pillsbury doughboy look. Weight gain? Steroids? Or just my imagination? I am wondering if that has anything to do with why he briefly left the show..

As I watched blood splatters hitting poor Cora I was thinking, "That did not just happen! Is this really happening???" Because they kept zooming in on Robert. Oh my gosh! I was also thinking, well, I don't think you bleed like that with a heart attack, what is going on?

I got the impression that Carson didn't really know what a gastrectomy was, lol.

Mrs. Carson is once again gonna have to assert herself when it comes to meal prep. Funny how they're showing the often real life type of adjustments newlyweds go thru.

It seems Barrows may be redeemed by helping Andy learn to read. Perhaps this will segway into some kind of job offer/career change for him.

Does anyone see Mr. Patmore and Mr. Mason becoming chummy?

For once, I did enjoy the storyline this week with Spratt and Denker.

I am hoping there are a few more surprises in store for us before the show wraps. (Those of you who are in the know, please don't breathe a word, we don't want to know! )

Has anyone mentioned the movie "Gosford Park"? Written by Julian Fellows, he was going to have Downton as a spinoff to it but then chose to have Downton set in an earlier time. Still, it has lots of the Downton feel to it, if you're interested in watching it, I found it on Amazon Prime for free.

Tom playing matchmaker for Mary and the new guy (after all her talk about not marrying down). I do see Mrs. Patmore and Mr. Mason, also Daisy and Andy – I'd have thought she would be the one that would teach him to read, but he would have been too embarrassed I'm sure. And will Edith tell her new friend the truth about Marigold? And Mary is beginning to see the truth of it too, but how will she deal with it? The old Mary would have made something ugly about it, but Robert knows about Mary's tryst with Gillingham, so she can't very well do that now, can she? And Sybil's ghost is haunting her now, especially after Gwen talking about her at lunch. Hanging around Tom is good for her.

I just wanted to smack Carson when he started fussing about the table setting and the plate not being hot. Like he expected the same service he gives upstairs. Puir Elsie!
