That's just crazy talk!
-
Uh, no. I remember seeing snow in 84, and 88 or 89 here. Glennie does too.
-
88 or 89,,, there was a hard freeze as far south as Hobe Sound,,, where I was living at the time. My BF was driving back from Atlanta,, and got stuck in Lake City cuz the roads were all iced over.
And as my mother fondly reminded me yesterday,, it snowed in Miami on my 18th birthday!! **headlines**
And we had snow flurries here in Gainesville just one or 2 years ago,,,, can't remember exactly. It does happen.
-
And as I grumbled on another thread, I didn't move far enough south. Like to the equator. 👙🌴.
-
No, no, no, (visual is me with hands held over my ears) am not hearing you, no, no, no, snow in central FL, no, no, no.
I can't hear you. Not listening. No speaka da language. Nope.
Didn't move from NJ to find snow here!!!!!
-
oh patoo,, do not fret!! The snow flurries were teeny little flakes that lasted all of 5 mins. If you were not outside at just the right time, you would not have seen them. It is SO RARE that you would see anything more than that. You will never see snow like NJ here,,, until the next ice age,,,,
-
Whew, I feel better (because I left my snow shovel with the people who bought my townhouse in NJ!). Thanks glennie.
-
that was a good visual,,, I was picturing you with your hands over your ears!!
-
but no snow!!
-
Was same here (The Villages) an hour ago. Now in the 40's.
-
Spookie I FOUND you! Hah! But I can't post here because I am not living in Florida.... I just LOVE Florida.... Wait.... maybe I can post since my Daughter and Grand-sons live in Orlando? I feel like an outsider.........
-
Chevy!! **waving** Don't be an outsider! Come and visit!
-
We'll make you an honorary poster chevy just in case you are visiting around the time we have a meetup!
-
Okay THANKS you guys! Spookie is probably out in her yard with her flip-flops and taking pictures of her 37 degree weather! We are expecting SNOW soon... but I won't talk about that here.... Hi Patoo! You sound so familiar from "somewhere"... I know we started about the same time...
Hi Glennie!
-
I'm not hiding. 😜 Patoo, I've been after her for a year to come back. We've actually met, at Celebration. She came to visit her DD. Me in red shorts, Chevy in red shirt, Sas in blue shirt. Was fun!!
-
Spookiesmom- Do you live in Dunedin? I just bought a house there!
-
yes I do!! Been here 30 years. Where?
-
Harbor Shores, across from Dunedin Golf Course on Bayshore.
-
OMD!! Just up the street about a half mile!! You're by Munchies and the motel!!
-
yes... The motel is directly behind me! I remember when it was called Your Hearts Desire

Looking forward to meeting all of you!
-
hello everyone! Can't wait to see everyone in a week! It looks like there will be 9 of us.
Good thing we did not decide on Feb 6th....it's the Mount Dora Art Fest! They are expecting 250,000
-
oh my goodness. They're expecting 30,000 for the Mardi Gras parade here Tues!! I don't do crowds well at all.
-
HI all- thats right- the Art Fest was yesterday. Would have been a bit hard getting around.
Spookie, I don't like crowds either and 30,000 is sure a lot of people.
Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Was going to a mardi gras today but found it was only yesterday but then heard about the art fest and ran over today (it was 2 days). Very nice artwork and lots of talent. Crowds were not too bad despite it having rained yesterday. Looking forward to seeing you all next week.
