Hi Ducky- nice to see you here again. Hermits has not been as busy, but we still like to talk here. I am not so much of a hermit as I was during treatment and after, but still love my Hermits!
I heard there is a big storm coming to the east coast. The northeast got going late on the whole winter/snow thing, but think you are rolling along now?
-
Hi Jazzy....so good to hear from you .........glad to hear your doing ok.............a lot of the threads we use to keep up with have kind of dropped down in volume.................sad because they were so much fun, and such nice ladies..........
Yes we are finally getting the weather were suppose to have all along......it was 70 degrees here on Xmas eve........I had my entire family here, and we had to turn on the a/c it got so warm ........now who in the Northeast in December puts the a/c on......but I loved it.............
Well you take care........I put Hermits back into my "favorites" and am hoping I don't lose it.......not sure where my favorites go at times, but all of a sudden I realize they are not there......guess that happens at my age........haha..hugs.

Ducky, is sweet Stella still being mischievous while on the mend?
*Hermits*

Hi Tek.............she is doing great........we can now visit my daughter's ;house and she can jump as much as she wants.....but guaranteed she is going t act like an ass again, and probably end up with more surgeries..........she just loves being goofy........
This is the look you get when you tell her '''STOP IT."

thanks ladies...............she got out in the snow, and my SIL HAD TO RUN IN HIS SLPERS IN 15 INCHES OF SNOW TO GET HER

-
Ducky- I remember Stella! She is so cute. Perfect name for that cutie.
How is the snow back east my east coast sisters? I have a friend in the NJ area that says she has 16 inches so far and it is still coming down?
-
We aren't supposed to get snow in the North Country!
-
We've been getting snow since about 9 a.m. here in my area. I'd have to hazard a guess and say we must have at least 4 inches by now. They said my area might see as much as 10 inches.
-
Hoping you are all ok in the EAst.......
-
We are okay. Storm is over and the shoreline of Connecticut got hit with a foot or more. Today is clean up day.
-
Floording at all the shore points......20 inches where I am now at my sons.......no flights in or our since Friday evening...
-
Good morning ladies- wow, ALOT of snow for the mid-atlantic to northeast. I hope it has moved off the coast today?
-
We're only feeling the cold in the North Country. -7*F

All shoveled out here! Was helping the hubby today with the clean-up and got a face full of snow when he threw a shovel full in my direction and I turned to say something to him! Almost put a handful down his back!
-
Mommy- I love a good snow fight! Our snow never sticks around long enough to do anything with it!
-
Busy week coming up!!
-
Our snow is almost gone. Been up around the 40s here.

Hi everyone
We had a beautiful day here, the sun was out and the snow was melting and I didn't see my breath when walking . I have had major gi issues this month, but things seem to be on the mend, kept me at home more than I wanted to be. I am off to see surgeon for reconstruction tomorrow . We have a very long wait in Alberta and was surprised when I got a phone call at the beginning of January. My radiation finished a year ago and herceptin last May , so I am good to go
-
Lookforward- sorry to hear about your GI issues. I have had a lot myself lately. Today was a not good day on that front. I hope you are feeling better and hope the recon apt goes well!
-

Sorry to hear your tummy is acting up, I felt fine with mine. I did have have a bit of a stomach bug at the beginning of January , I wonder if my gi is overly sensitive from chemo damage.
It was our anniversary yesterday and we went to a Turkish restaurant with our kids (they are 30 and 32 so not young) and had a fabulous meal. My husband had the best rack of lamb and the three of us shared a variety of food, will go again in the near future,
Today we meet our financial advisor downtown, then went for lunch. This has to stop , I an not overweight but have a puggy middle and I need to get that under control. I saw a dietitian before Christmas and need to follow her suggestions. I get my Fitbit steps of 10,000 per day, but it is not enough to lose weight, I am also not twenty anymore , so the weight stays.
-
Lookforward- are you taking Tamoxifen or any of the AIs? They cause weight gain and hard to loose weight on them. Going to see my MO tomorrow and will have a chat about this.
Happy Anniversary. Dinner sounded delish!
-
Jazzygirl
I take tamoxifen, I did mention that to the dietitian but she thinks I just need to reduce calories and have very little sugar, which is true , but you got to live a little. Okay I did make two pies this month, January for me is a higher calorie month. We have cold winters ( sounds like an excuse to me) and you crave higher calorie foods. It will be interesting to hear what your doctor has to say
-
Lookingforward- I gave up sugar the year I went on the AIs, and eat very little. Pretty much stick to proteins and lean vegetables. I get all the same lectures and advice about the calories and way I eat, do what they say, and still difficult. I think they should do a good clinical study on the meds and weight issues.
I do know there are some studies about women and weight gain after treatment, but not said why? They think the effects of chemo and or the meds that change things. I have talked to some women on other threads who have shared those and will post if I can find some good info on it.
My BS apt was postponed yesterday so I did not have to get her lecture again! I expect to have some better conversations with the the MO today. -
Jazzygirl
Good luck with the appointment
-
