Has anyone NOT lost hair on aromatase inhibitors. Please till me I'm not gonna get fat, lose hair, have aching bones and lose eye sight, and no sex. Please post if you've done well on amiridex or Femara.

Hi RLM, please be assured that most of us on AIs do not lose hair or get fat or go blind or stop having sex. I have been on anastrozole (generic of arimidex) for almost two years. Absolutely no impact on hair, no change in weight or eye sight. There was some stiffness at the beginning that is almost gone now. The scalp and skin are dryer and a lubricant is a must for sex but no change otherwise.

Thank you Muska, I need some reassurance, just starting treatment and "a pill" was mentioned. I'm also happy yout are doing well. Again, thank you!

Hi RLM, Like Muska, on it for almost two years, have not had any side effects. In fact, I always ask my Oncologist if it is really working since there are no effects, as I read a lot of the comments and thought losing hair, etc was to be expected! She says many people don't experience side effects.

Hi RLM, you are just starting this journey so you will find that this disease affects each one of us as individuals. What some experience may or may not happen to you. Don't think everything that some report will be your story. I've been on arimidex/anastrozole for almost 7 years and none of those affected me.

Hi there: no hair loss (in fact, taking biotin and my hair is thicker and in better shape than it was before the dx!); I find it harder to lose, but I can when I put my mind to it, I take a claritin daily which seems to help the hip aches I have (but that could also be because I do a lot of strenuous yoga), I was always near-sighted but just went to see my eye doc yesterday and no change, and hubby and I still (when we can find the time) have sex as regularly as possible.

    Hope that helps!

RLM I have had almost no side effects. About a month after I started the drug my hair started to shed and it scared me. I thought I would be bald in a month. It stopped after a couple of weeks and now it is growing back in. I have lots of hair so no one but my husband and I knew. There was hair all over the sink whenever I touched my hair. My hair dresser thinks it was actually a stress reaction. That can happen several months after diagnosis.
