    Pulled a hamstring (more precisely, it cramped while I exercised, possibly due to Tamxifen). About to get in a tub full of Epson salts.

    Good visit with my naturopath; no need to go back unless I want to, so I said I'd schedule with her after my next 3-month follow-up wth my MO.

    My medical alert bracelet broke so I had the info tag:

    but no bracelet. I ordered two beaded bracelets with lobster clasps on both ends from Twice Loved Beads on Etsy. They arrived in a couple of days and they're cute:

    Hi all!

    Just got home from the gynaecologist- my postop checkup. The pathology came back...ovaries were fine. But it is a good thing I opted to have my uterus out as well...a polyp was found with atypical cells. So while it was not cancer, it could very well have turned into cancer. Whew! I got the go-ahead to have sex, which I am sure my husband will appreciate!

    I saw a physiotherapist yesterday about some mild lymphedema in my left arm...I only had 2 sentinel nodes removed there but radiation caused some lymphedema.So now I see a massage therapist on Monday for manual lymphatic drainage then get fitted for a sleeve. The fun never stops around here. Cancer...the gift that keeps on giving.

    I called the plastic surgeon's office today...I was referred months ago by my RO, to talk about reconstruction. There is a 1 year wait so I should get an appointment in June sometime. Oh well, no hurry. As long as I am on the list. Still waiting for a genetic counselling appointment, too.

    A new year, new beginnings! I am going back to my piano lessons which I had put on hold for all the cancer crap. And I am going to be babysitting my baby granddaughter once a week starting next week. Yay!

    PCP is happy enough with my A1cs that I don't have to go back for half a year.

    Yay Andrea and Susan! Good results all around. Andrea, I know the sleeve sounds like a bummer, but it seems like some of the women here have had good results and are dealing. Watching your grandaughter sounds like fun, I'm sure she'll keep you busy.

    Susan, your A1C being good enough to put monitoring off is quite an accomplishment, especially right after the holiday. My daughter who is T1D has been OOC, her last A1C was 7.8, but I'd guess it's up above 8 by now. I can't seem to impress upon her how serious it is for her to manage it. Sigh.

    Question for Karen - I'm curious, with all the jewelry-like med alert bracelets, do you, as a paramedic, check every bracelet just in case it's a med alert? My daughter would love to have one, but I've hesitated because I wouldn't want any confusion if she was in a medical emergency.

    A bracelet is more visible than a necklace, and most medics would see it, but some are not as detail-oriented as others. I do think most would see it though, as long as the medic alert part was big enough.

    Yes, A1c is a hard thing for teens and younger adults.

    I'll only wear an alert bracelet with a clear tag that's got the clear med alert symbol on it. Some on Etsy are too obscure or hard to see the symbol in low light. However, for tags that can have replaceable bracelets, Etsy is a source that provides attractive options.

    Kbeee - yes, genetic testing is available in Canada. I have been approved for the counselling and testing will follow. There is a long wait list for those who are approved (ie, the government pays for it). If you are not approved or you don't want the long wait, you can opt to pay for it...but it's expensive and I don't mind waiting.

    We went to Portland and met up with friends for dinner, then went to hear Patti Smith (Horses came out 40 years ago, so the first half of the concert was the album, and the second was other songs). I haven't seen her since maybe the mid-1980s and it was great to hear her live again. Night in a nice hotel, then early morning drive home in time for work.

    Tried to come up with a funny joke about chemo-hair.... and couldn't. I have not cut mine since it grew back. Kept planning and planning; still planning. I think it comes with some fear.

    Meanwhile, it's grey here in New England. I need the sun - we might all need the sun after the recent national cold spell. Wishing you all some breathes of fresh air. If you have been inside all day, please get out for a few minutes.

    Hi all!!!

    My toe is finally recovering. After 3 days of burning from using iodine and finding out I have an iodine sensitivity. Never had before CA. Finally healing. So don't know if the iodine sensitivity due to CA treatment, coincidence or what. I'm told six months for it to grow back. So hopefully for summer sandal season.

    Love those bracelets, KSusan! Etsy is so fun and an escape, good retail therapy. Speaking of which I got these adorable earrings on Etsy. Have had many compliments on them. Got my first hair trim today and despite not wanting to lose any it looks so much neater.

    Good to hear everyone having good test results! Going to get my powerball tickets. Won $12 on Wed so must be the appetizer for me to win the big one?! Haha
