tumor regret some between last chemotherapy and surgery

HIle waiting for surgery,

I'm new to the group. I was diagnosed with stage 3 Grade 3 Her2 positive breast cancer, Invasive Ductal carcinoma, metastized to my lymphnodes. in June 2015. I WAS PUT ON THE ISPY2 trial, but my tumor progressed. I was put on adromyacin cytoxin for 4 rounds and the tumor shrunk very small. My last treatment was November 20th, my Surgery is December 29th. I feel like the tumor growing back shows that I have a poor prognosis. I'm getting 12 rounds of herceptin and taxol after surgery, then Radiation and another type of chemotherapy during radiation. My PET scan was clear. Has anyone else had their tumor grow back?

    I don't have experience with this but hopefully someone will come along and comment. When did your tumor grow again? During the trial?

    I'm IBC not IDC. I did neoadjuvant 4 DD A/C and then adjuvant 12 weekky Taxol. Worked great for me. My time frame was a bit different though. My UMX was 2 weeks after last DD A/C and started Taxol 3 weeks after UMX. Rads started 1 week after last Taxol and a week after starting Rads I started Femara (no Herceptin as I'm HER2- ). Neoadjuvant Chemo is the SOP for IBC but is becoming more often used with other types with good results.

    Have you had scans that show the IDC progressing? For many/most 2 different Chemo will be used neoadjuvant hoping for a complete response. What is your ER/PR status? If you are +, you will likely start an estrogen blocker either during or after rads. (Herceptrin is done for a year if HER2+ ).
