Anastrozole (Arimidex) and Rheumatology (Arthritis)

Hi ,

My mom done with breast cancer treatment. She was stage IIIB. Now , she is cancer free. Its almost two years she is taking Anastrozole (Arimidex). 1MG every day.

She is going for bone dentistry (MRI) soon . She had one two years ago.

She had Arthritis for long time almost 20 years.

Now , her Arthritis became worse. She has joints and muscles pain

I am interested to know do Arimidex cause joints and muscles pain?

Any information will be helpful.

    It certainly can cause joint pain. I have recently had more joint pains over that last 6 months than in the previous 5 years than I have been on anastrozole. It involves my hands and hips especially. The pain slowly gets better (over a period of many weeks) but then pops up in another joint. Not pleasant, but better than having a recurrance!
