Wren/Kiwi: thank you. I've wondered that about torties--I've got one myself--and knew it had something to do with the color being carried on the X chromosome.
-
KT - special indeed! Adorable!
-
I wonder if female orange tabbies are as nice as the boys. The boys almost all are sweet and easy to be around.
-
Thanks, Terre
Wren, Minka can be standoffish with us & shy with strangers, but if she chooses to she can be very cuddly & smoochy- has to be her idea. If you try & sit her on your lap for a cuddle she'll usually run off.
Percy, our ginger boy, is a real people person. He'll approach anyone for a tickle, jump on our laps for a cuddle. In fact if you're still you've got him whether you want him or not. And he'd like to stay on your lap for hours thanks....
-
Our orange tabby boy was very long and big. He would sit on the sofa with me and put the front half in my lap. He was too long to fit.
Our current cat is a bit standoffish. He rarely sits on laps, but does sleep with us most of the time.

Daughter made Kojak a pillow fort. Nikolai got jealous and tried to kick him out. So, she had to make a dual fort.
-
Love it!
-
Talk about being spoiled. ;o))
-
Hahaha...love the dual fort.
-
Dual fort, lol! So cute.

Lots of KI kittens. They have 134 in residence or in foster care.

Here are my babies. I'm not just a crazy cat lady but a crazy dog lady too. I have two cats and two dogs. The "Twins" as everybody calls them, showed up two years ago at my door, on the morning of the first frost day we had. As I woke up I went to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee, and I heard kitten meows at the entrance door. When I opened the door I found two kittens cuddling together against the porch slab, in the small space formed by the trash can, porch floor slab and fence. They were shivering, famished and full of fleas. They are not twins, when I found them the short hair was around 5 or 6 weeks old and the long hair about 3 months old. My friends call them "The Twins" because they're both ginger boys and inseparable. How they found each other in the big world out there I don't know. I got them inside, fed them, gave them baths to get them rid of fleas. The younger one had diarrhea so needed a round of antibiotics. Of course when the time came they went for neutering and got all their shots. They grew up to be gorgeous cats, the long hair I initially thought he was an Angora but as time went by we discovered he was actually a Maine Coon. Who threw out these treasures was an idiot. I named them Conor and Seamus - Irish names as they are ginger - well, actually Conor is tan and white and Seamus is orange and white. They still cuddle together, play together, and most of the time Conor acts like the "mommy" and Seamus like the "baby", he even nudges Conor to give him head-baths.
Here they are in their favorite poses together:
Seamus has the cuteness of Puss in Boots from Shrek. He is derpish sometimes. One day he spent half the day trying to lick his new collar and getting very frustrated that his tongue wouldn't reach it. Took me a while to manage to get a proper video without the camera shaking I was laughing so hard.
Here's Seamus "derping"
Conor loves to lay flat on the floor with his fuzzy belleh exposed hoping he'd get someone's attention for a belly rub - he actually LOVES to have his belly rubbed, not like other cats.
They also provided the material for a lot of internet memes.
-
Love Cthe full belly poses Conor does! What beautiful cats
Kiwi those grey and white mini siberian tigers! Cuteness overload! Adorable.
-
Seachain - what beautiful kitties! Derpy - love that too, and the sweet story of them turning up together.
The silver tabbies are beautiful, feline. Hoping they post more pics of them soon. They're still at Kitten Inn; should be going into foster care within the next few days and hopefully the fosterer can get good pics.
-
These guys are fully weaned and independent, but still want mom time.
They just about swamp her, but she doesn't seem to mind. A couple more weeks and they'll go to their furever homes so they get cuddles while the can.
-
Kiwi, The torti with white paws looks a lot like my Mocca.
Seachain, Those cats are adorable. We have a medium hair foster cat who likes tummy rubs too.
-
My old Siamese (Simon) liked to lay with his belly exposed and his back legs spayed out---it was kinda vulgar looking but he was such fine cat we overlooked it. He loved a tummy rub...
-
Zany sneaking a drink of formula even though he's weaned and, according to his foster mom, a piglet.
Those eyes...he knows he's being sneaky.
-
I love the Ginger boys.. great story. Makes you wonder how they found each other and then found your home. Meant to be. What kind of dogs do you have? Do they get along with the cats?
-
Cuddle puddle
-
Zany - great shot (or "great capture" as the saying goes these days) love it
-
Rosevalley - I have a male (fat) Whippet and a female greyhound/smooth fox terrier mix who is very old. They get along with the cats just fine. They even fur-match - Conor's fur matches the Whippet's and Seamus's fur matches the greyhound mix. I know this is a cats thread but here they are. And yes, there is a lot of hugging/cuddling going on in my house.
-
Hey Seachain, I'm catless too, DH doesn't like them, but the ladies here put up with me. 😜 A fur baby is a fur baby. Don't think I could go in KittenInn, I'd be a crazy cat lady in a heartbeat.
-
Hey, I hear you on the "furbaby is a furbaby" . Even a furless baby is a furless baby. I grew up in a house where there always were one dog and one cat - one was always the older, the cat would die, we'd get a kitten that would be raised by the dog, the dog would die, we'd get a puppy that was raised by the cat.
In my life I had all kinds of pets besides dogs and cats, rabbits, mice, hamsters, Guinea pigs, parakeets, lizards and even snakes. I loved them all, fur, scale or feather. The only "pets" I never bonded with were fish. Those were only my Dad's hobby.
-
I once had a orange tabby cat (who thought he was a puppy) and a yellow lab/shepherd mix (who made the cat his puppy). Best of all - they matched the sofa. We almost lost the cat to a broken heart when the dog died. He also took over some of the dog's duties - he would go to the front window and growl at dogs walking by.

Evidently, cats have special status in Turkey. Check out this video of stray cats wandering across the stage at the G20 summit – video http://trib.al/fLNz9GW
-
Too funny! Although we would probably all be better off if cats did rule the world!
-
Oreo gives Henry a bath, although it looks more like he's killed and is eating him!
