INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

The mollusks are the best part! Hubby and kids avoid them. More for me. I used whole prawns for the broth instead of fish. Chicken chile sounds yummy.
Glennie, you are stuck at work? Bummer. Well, at least you are employed. Glad I am not in hospital setting. Glad I dont have to do nights and rotating weekends
-
Aww Cubbie. Big bear hug. Btw, I saw that you were trying to hint to Ms. CHEVY to give Mr. G the sugarless candies to help with the constipation....uh huh tsk tsk
-
Loverly, apparently Mr. G isn't going to get unstopped any other way. Desperate times, desperate measures, you know.

As some of you may remember, I was at a family wedding last month and got to see my cousin who lives in Paris and meet her husband for the first time. When I saw the news this afternoon about the terrorism in France, I just though "oh god, no. We just saw them." Well, they are okay, but separated at the moment as her husband is in another location and she was planning to fly out to meet him tomorrow. With the borders closed, she won't be going anywhere for a bit. She is pretty freaked out, the city turned into a war zone tonight. This is their 911. I have that same sick feeling in my my stomach as I did back then. I hope if any of you have friends, friends or work colleagues there, that they are okay too.
Cubbie- hugs about having to give up the theater production. I can tell it is something you are passionate about and so tough on you to have to give it up right now. I am hoping you will be able to resume next year once you are done with treatment and recovery. Cancer treatment really does take over your life for awhile, but not forever. I am sorry about the whole matter.
-
Jazzy, thank goodness your cousin is OK. I can't imagine what the people of Paris are going through tonight.
-
Senseless!!! How can people harbor such hatred and bitterness? Jazzy, what a relief !!!
Enerva, you mentioned you have relatives in France??
-
jazzy, glad they are okay whew..........had that feeling one time about DH when he was involved with a fire. Not a good feeling
.Cubbie , so soory, cancer sucks. no words. HUGS
loverly, looks good. Do you start with a broth?
It's spookie's b-day

-
Sassy- Some friend you are! How scary could her driving be in a car that tiny? Happy Birthday! Lucky you to be in Florida with sun!
-
Happy Belated Birthday Queen.
Happy Birthday Spookiesmom.
Nothing like us Scorpios! My DDIL is one as well as my DD#1's boyfriend's mother.
-
Cubbie: is it just this 'season' of the theater that you're sitting out? But yeah, I wouldn't be able to go back either! As for gerbils, I'd come up with "brain gerbils" to describe the galloping (and largely irrational/unsolvable) worries that scampered around in my mind about cancer and treatment.
Kath: quite all right--I'm still celebrating, so not too late.
Following the news in/about Paris.
-
SAS thank you, and everybody!! I have to say DD is not in the pipe band pic, that is the HS and MS pipe bands.
Loverly, how did you know about TimTams? Yum!!
Sorry you're bummed about the play, there's always next year.
-
Happy belated birthday!!!!
Sas-schatzi invited me here, but I'm not sure if I'll post often. I am not an insomniac anymore, lol. Tbh, I still was for a few months after finishing chemo, but since, I've never gotten rid of fatigue and having chronic pain doesn't help with that either. I usually start snoozing while watching a movie around at most 10 pm and wake up anywhere between 4 am and 5 am.
I've been following what's going on in Paris. Horrible. My heart weeps for them.
-
Seachain (Day).........hi. glad you came. Glad you are back and NED. Too often when someone comes back it means a return of BC/MBC. We aren't just sleepless. It's a 24/7 day a week social thread. It was truly an insomniacs thread when I started it back in the day. But I changed that awhile back. It was my safe haven when I was being stalked by two members. The Mods prevented the stalkers from coming here by threatening a permanent ban if they posted here. It's worked out well. Lot's of nice folks here
Hope you drop in often.
Those that commit terrorist acts are the epitome of evil.

Happy Bday Spookie!
-
I know you don't need this many candles but I couldn't resist! Happy birthday, spookie.
-
Gonna jump right in and then I'll be back. You know I'm an eagle nut. Challenger the free flying eagle is flying at the start of the Army/Tulane game on CBS Sports channel. Starts at noon eastern/ 11 central. Hope they televise it.
-
Welcome Seachain. We are a lovely social club here. No need to have insomnia. Just throw yourself in the conversation. Post when you feel like it, read when you want to be quieter. No judgment.
Happy Birthday Spookie. Just for you (and I figured out how to post you tubes again!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQwdy2wPpjU
And the eagle flight was not televised. I'm waiting to see if it is posted on YouTube. Challenger is magnificient in flight.
-
OMD GOATS!!! ❤️😂
Would you believe that's the FIRST time I've ever heard it on pipes!!!!!!!!
I'll get after DD for that.
Thank you!!!!!
-
You are welcome Spookie. A moment of sheer inspiration after all the things SassyMaster posted.
-
happy birthday spooks

Happy birthday to all the birthday girls here. I think there is more than one here today? Mommy too?
-
BB- just know based on my 30 plus years working in all types of environments that sexual harassment does not have as much to do with age, being single or married, someone's feelings about the way you look, etc. It is about power, the abuse of power to lord over people who may need something from the situation. I have been sexually harassed as a fast food worker, corporate executive, consultant, etc. Just be on your guard here, that is all.

Down flat with my back today but couldn't miss Spookiemom's birthday. And M0mmy?
Je reviens Paris aujourd'hui.
