Tamoxifen and Neck & Shoulder pain, and tinnitus

I have been taking Tamoxifen since March. I am now experiencing a tightness in the back of my neck and am having quite a bit of pain in my neck and shoulders.

In addition, I can hear my heart beat in my left ear (I had my mastectomy on my left side). If the room is very quiet, it drives me crazy hearing it.

Anyone else have these same discomforts?

I am really wishing I did not have to take this Tamoxifen.

I too have been experiencing shoulder pain and severe headaches. In February I started Tamoxifen, however about a month ago the pharmacy gave me a different generic. It doesn't seem to be working the same.i had it filled for 90 days, so I will have 2 more months of this

So sorry that you are having shoulder pain and headaches. I hope you get some relief.

I was so curious to know if others were having the same thing. If so, then I would know I wasn't crazy. lol

Do you know of anything that helps with shoulder pain and headaches?

I'm been taking Tamoxifen since end of September 2015. I have noticed some tinnitis in my right ear, not sure it's from the medication, but it's very annoying! I haven't had any neck or shoulder pain and hope I never do. Any suggestions to help with this side effect would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Just curious- is your blood pressure good? I have heard that if you can hear your heartbeat in your right ear, it could be due to high blood pressure. Is yours like a heartbeat sound or a ringing?

My is like hearing my heartbeat. I can only notice it when in a completely quiet room. Thank goodness I do not notice it all the time.

I hope you do not have any neck or shoulder pain either.

Even after taking a break I still have ear ringing and neck issues. I think the AI drugs caused this and now it's permanent. I am so frustrated the ringing at night drives me crazy.

I am sorry to hear that we are all having SEs. My blood pressure is actually low to normal, but never high. When my headaches are bad them I have more shoulder and neck pain. I am not sure if maybe I position my neck or shoulder in an awkward position to cope w/ headache. Maybe it is something hormone related

Bummer. Are you still off of the Al drugs? I am just wondering if the benefits out weight the effects from these drugs. In addition, the doctors prescribing these drugs do not seem to be too worried about all these side effects or willing to admit that these drugs are causing this.

I have some shoulder issues as a consequence of surgery and radiation. I don't seem to have shoulder issues or worse tinnitus than usual with tamoxifen.

I think that is what makes this hard. I wish I knew for sure if the shoulder and neck pain is from something I am doing or the drugs. That is why I was wondering what other people were experiencing.

    florida2015...

So sorry you are having pain. Hopefully, it will ease up. My neck and shoulder pain has actually gotten better, not totally gone, but better. I am wondering if many people stay on Tamoxifen or go to Armidex after menopause? Too bad these drugs have SEs.

Meow13- I would like a remedy also. DO you hear your heartbeat or is it that you have ringing? Also, just curious which ear you have it?
