10/26: 1.75 miles + stretches + 25 biceps hand weights + 20 modified military press + 100 crunches + 50 dead bugs + 3# overhead lifts [10x3] + 15# lifts [10x3]

I have an intermittent pain at the bottom of my rib cage on the left. Must be the bacon.
-
Undoubtedly so.
-
Fuck it!
-
I think I'm gonna rub bacon on my sore areas...
-
Since we are doing food porn-yes, that's a donut roasting on an open fire..
-
heres the stove we built, and the cookies we baked! A delightful mix of peanut butter Lara bar and trail mix lol. Well, it was a slow day waiting for people to get done...
-
Jen you're a regular Bear Gryls or whoever that survivalist is that drinks his pee on that man channel show. Don't go drinking your pee though.

we roasted starburst candies on my last camping trip because apparently that's a thing. After about 5 fell off the stick into the fire and one gave me third degree burns on thumb and forefinger I finally was able to eat one and it just tasted like really hot chewing gum. Another thing I saw on Pinterest that turned out nothing like the picture. The Lara bar cookies look a lot more successful.
-
Bet they needed bacon!
-
What doesn't need bacon? Jen, you raise food porn to a whole new level.

I think I'll walk to work today. This will help me manage my anxiety about some lumpiness in my armpit that's probably just lymph doing what lymph does, or minor swelling from air travel. I refuse to poke it as often as I want to. (In literature, this theme is called "Man against Himself.")
-
To poke or not to poke.
-
Lol, Ksusan. I vaguely recall the reference from high school English.
-
Wound up driving in case my BS had an opening today. He didn't, but I have an appointment for tomorrow morning.
-
Wishing you a speedy, thorough, and outcomeless visit. Keep us posted. Hugs.
You too, E!
-
Thank you. This instant fear bites.
-
Sorry for everybody with lumps and bumps that have put spiders in your heads. That's what my friend and I call them, those panic thoughts that crawl around in our brains. Fingers and toes crossed for everyone. I think I posted this image before, but it seems appropriate at the moment
-
Ksusan, glad you could get in tomorrow. The monster never let's us forget for long befor yanking our strings, does it. Let us know how it goes, and if he decides to cut, make lots of "fight club" references during the surgery. Trust me on this.
Excercise was 7 hrs hiking in the snow today. Then roasted chicken for 6. Seems like the bouldering yesterday really helped my radiation pain-must have jerked some scar tissue loose!

10/27: Fitbit steps + stretches + 50 biceps hand weights + 20 modified military press + 100 crunches + 50 dead bugs + 4# overhead lifts [30x1] + 15# lifts [30x3] + 1.0 hr T (2.5 MPH) = 4.5 miles
-
Hi Ksusan. Well done for doing all that exercise. My physio makes me do the 'dead bugs' without the arms, for my back: I'm sure she'll love it when I tell her what they're called in English! Re your ribcage pain, you may just have pulled a muscle.
I had a dental checkup recently and my dentist suggested getting an electrical toothbrush as I may be tired/have problems using one or both hands during/after treatment.
For people asking about Mg, the worst offender for loose stools is Mg oxide. The best are taurate and malate: they are more expensive, but are probably better absorbed too. And they don't knock you out.
-
Penzance, good to know about the magnesium. I haven't tried those two forms. I do glycinate and threonate before bed because I kind of like that mellow, go to sleep feeling. The other bonus is I get up, poop, and get to weigh with an empty stomach and colon lol. What I will do to get a low weight number! But I agree with you on the oxide.
-
Splurged on a 3-hour 'personal trainer' package at the Y; I'd been thinking about it for a while but cancer got in the way. Deity knows I don't need motivation but rather help with getting to an approximately normal weight in a healthy fashion and staying there.
-
Scar tissue. I'm relieved in a way that all of you can imagine!
-
Only scar tissue! Phew!
-
yes- PHEW!!!! I can imagine. And I don't want to. Don't want you to either. Enjoy your day. Really enjoy your day
-
Penzance, do any of your exercises have fun names in your other language?
I feel both relieved and wary. It's amazing how quickly the fear rises up. I'm glad I'm teaching a mindfulness and stress reduction class this winter!
-
Ksusan...whew is right. What a relief! I'm definitely trying to work on the stress reduction. Wish I could take your class...sounds like something I need.
Haven't been checking in for awhile. Been doing a little backsliding. Life stresses and upcoming surgery has me down...after 10 months nowthe road seems so long and I feel weary. Haven't stopped walking though, still trying to get my 2 mi walk daily plus steps, but definitely less mileage and intensity. Perhaps it's not so bad...ramp it up again after surgery in 2 weeks?

I was a relatively fit woman before this. The first few months after my diagnosis in 12/2014, I lost about 8 lbs due to stress. Then I gained back about 2, then after my mastectomy and 6 rounds of Taxotere/Herceptin/Perjeta, I have finally gained back what I had lost. I am determined to get my strength and energy back, but since I just finished chemo 3 weeks ago and now begin radiation next week, it may be a long time coming. I am so weak and exhausted compared with even 2 months ago. I try to walk at least a half mile when I can, and pray that my hair grows in thick fairly quickly, as winter draws nigh. I will keep you all posted and encouraged as I am able. Each of us wants, needs and deserves to have our lives back!
