Hi Everyone out there with BC. Can someone tell me when the PR goes from positive to negative? Mine was 40% described as 'weak' Thanks in anticipation Love Muriel

That's a tough question to answer. This is all over the place. Mine was 5% so I've looked at this carefully.

If your tumor is getting tested by Oncotype DX, then you'll get a positive or negative reading based on their scale. This is whether your PR % and intensity is counting in a positive way towards you overall score or a negative way. It is not to be confused with other testing results, but many people do get confused by this.

I've read a lot of research papers about low PR%, Luminal B and how this impacts treatment. In these papers, negativity is set at 0% or below 5, 10, or 20% in come cases. I've not come across whether "weakly" or "strongly" stained is ever addressed, though I'd guess genetic tests such as the Oncotype may consider this. Only guessing through.

I have been tested twice and my results were ER- PR30-45% positive, HER2- (+1)

I want to do more research before deciding whether to take AI

I already had joint pain and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia before cancer so I am questioning whether this will be a benefit to me

I should finish chemo in January and I probably won't need radiation.

Can anyone point me to any reading? Thanks.
