HOOTIE Hoo !! Patty Peppermint is BACK ! I have been concerned.......ok, worried. So happy to see you. Hope better days are ahead for you. Have you lost every ounce of body fat possible? I got skinny during treatment, and that lasted until this summer.....Whoa, too much travel & food on the run. I have packed on close to 10 lbs in a few months.
Hello to all, afraid of losing another post ........BBL........
-
Great news, Susan!! Yippee!!! And the baby will be here in May,,, so exciting!!
Too bad about the glasses, Wren,,, that would have been nice.
-
WOOOHOOOO SUSAN!!!!!!
-
susan - yea ! So doing a happy dance in my head for you. ! 8 months clear again ! love those words praise God indeed !
Jazzy. - that sounds like a marvelous time. & wine too. Yum yum.
Wren - darn. I was hopeful on the Amber glasses. I also am vertically challenged so sitting to close to steering wheel and can't see the lines on the road. I only drive on roads I know well at night.
HI1 - hugs. Love the jump for joy pic. I so wish I could do that ! Yes def one way to get skinny. Down to 101. Thanks to Saswho sent me those brownies to die for or I'd be under 100. Which mo don't like. To be honest I don't either. It feels weird to feel so many bones Sticking out without the fat to cushion them. Mo said eat anything I want. Just eat. So the last couple days I've had BlackBerry pie, cookies and cream ice cream, fudge : chocolate and peanut butter, french fries and a soda. Lol I don't want to see another sweet for a month. Switched to fresh fruit salad for breakfast today.
Chevy and Sas. - love y'all. Hugs
Hugs all around. My fingers aren't doing what my brain is telling them to do so I'll bbl.
Hootie hoo
-
Rejoicing with you, Susan. Yes, praise the Lord indeed!!
Jazzy, I am living vicariously through you.
Oh my dear, Patty! I would get a headache eating all those sweets! Haha. It's so good to hear you are eating and keeping the food down.
Cubbie, you slept ok last night?
Ms. Spookie, Ms. Sas, and Ms. CHEVY, thank you for your advices.
Always love to hear about your pet's story.
-
I definitely slept last night - didn't wake up at all until nearly 8, and I usually wake up once to use the bathroom in the wee hours.
Patty, I can see where you'd be tired of sweet stuff. When I had my dental surgery everybody was like, yay, all the ice cream you want! Trouble was, I really didn't want any after the first scoop. Mashed potatoes was my go to food instead.
-
Kath, I'll keep you posted! I know my night vision is going to be a bit haloed as the type of lense I'm going with will allow me to not use glasses anymore as well. But driving at night will be worse. I don't drive much at night which is good. Can't I use sunglasses to help?
That is great news Susan! Praises! Next time you are ill Patty, I'll coordinate with Sas and make brownies! Think I'm gonna start Dr Phil's 20/20 diet next week! Everyone be well this weekend. It's still raining here. Anyone hear from Goats?
-
Excellent Cubbie!
I was wondering about Goats too. Please send some rain to us. Our lake looks like a brook now
Best wishes on your sx
-
Patty, All I did was push the seat back a tiny notch and recline the back rest a tiny notch and presto I was farther away. I can still reach all the pedals and see fine. My steering wheel is adjustable, who knew? I think it's fine the way it is tho. The seat belt height is also adjustable. I rarely listen to the radio unless I'm stuck in gridlock. When I bought this car it was tuned to a station I didn't like and it took forever to get around to changing it. While I was driving with no radio, I realized how distracting it really was. Fortunately I'm not sharing the car with DH who has much longer arms and legs.
-
Loveroflife- my life is about to get a bit more boring. Back to work on a big new contract. I won't have as much time to play and do all the cool things I have been doing this year. I promise I will try to share anything interesting I do though!
-
Ms. Sas, yes, I think Mitzi was probably abused by the previous owner(s). The paperwork showed the family that surrendered her has 3 young kids. She is scare to death of toddlers, small children....and strollers or things on wheels. She is also scared of my sweeper.
-
Jazzy, the 35 degree was Denver's, silly girl. This is ours today
I love fall colors too. Could you post your changing colors if it is not a hassle
-
Loverly- whoops, sorry! It is in the 30s here at night too. I know you are jealous! LOL!.
Will share foliage pics as they happen!
-
Hot off the press, Trumpkin!
-
That's scary!!
-
Loverly, she sounds like Kris. Only he ran away from his previous home. He does NOT like kids. He hides under a table and growls at my grands. At the dog park, where kids shouldn't be anyway, he chases them, growling and snapping at them. We leave when there are kids around. He's a good dog in every other way. #1 GS is an animal lover and will sit on the floor and try to pet Kris, not happening.
-
It's just understandable the way our dogs act around other people.... Our first dog "Chevy" was just a baby when the girls gave him to us... They thought we needed someone to keep us company when they both were gone! He was an angel! When our first GS was born, he would lay on the floor next to him, protecting him from EVERYone..... even his Dad! Brandon was "his puppy" he thought... Same with the 2nd one... then we used to play 3-way frisbee when he was just ONE! Papa would throw the frisbee to me & Brandon, then "we" would throw it out in the yard to Chevy! And he would run it back to Papa.... Ha! And Brandon had his own Dart-board on the garage door! About 2 yards lower than Papa's.... We just were so much a part of their lives when they were little.... because I only worked part-time, and had my boys on my days off.... Boy, those were the best time of our lives..... Now they are 28 and 26!
You guys, my friend Theresa is in the hospital! I just KNEW it! Judy, her DIL called awhile ago, and when the phone rang, somehow I just KNEW it was Judy.... That feeling..... She passed out beside her bed last night... they found her, called the ambulance... And she is out of intensive care, but they were on their way out to see her.... Don't know why the blood transfusion didn't help her more.... could be pneumonia....
I just talked to her last night.... and she didn't sound good.... I prayed in the middle of the night.... just wanting God to take care of her.... So she thought we were going over tomorrow, but we'll wait until she gets better, and gets home... She sounded just so weak, and shaky last night....
Even though she is 90, I feel like she could live forever..... We just make each other laugh.......... so say a little prayer..... Thanks.......
-
Poor Kris. Sad that he doesn't bond with your GS. Mitzi warmed up to my younger daughter last. DD2 had to be careful not to approach Mitzi the first few days and let Mitzi come to her instead. I wish I could read the dog's mind so we could help her. On walks, if she sees or heardchildren coming, she just stands still and stares at the ground...just paralyzed by fear. I have tried to desensitize her by walking her near the school playground during recess. She gets overwhelmed. I have learned not to push her. It seems like she is making some progress...two steps forward and one step back.
Don't you love it when a dog is protective of a baby?.., just melts your heart. Ms. CHEVY, I am sorry to hear that Ms. Theresa is not well. We place her in God's loving hands. Hug
-
Susan- Hooray!!! May it last years and years! Sassy- sounds like a lovely lunch and nice time out. Loverly- congrads on your new fur baby. It takes time to earn trust and bond. Looks like a nice comfy bed to me! Lots of dogs feel safer in crates. I used to cover ours so it was a nifty little cave. Patty- wonderful to have you back.. eat!! Wren bummer about the glasses cause it sounded terrific. Jazzy the pumpkin was hilarious.. good likeness. Howdies to all i missed. ((((Hugs)))))
-
Aw, Spookie, how cute! I had a border collie mix when I was a kid, and he'd had a rough time at some point in his earlier life. He liked kids and women, but was wary of men. He came to trust my Dad, and of course having a girl for an owner was the perfect solution for him. He was quite the character. He used to "attack" his dog food, growling at the dish until he felt he had it sufficiently subdued, and then he'd eat. He was always up to something.
Chevy, sorry to hear about your friend Theresa. Hope she is well enough to go home soon.
-
Sleepless in Neverland.
Chevy sorry Theresa's doing poorly, ....Glad you are still Friskie or is that Frisbee? Hard to believe we are into cold again. I was able to keep the door open all day. OOps DS's B-day is the 27th, haven't gotten a card off to him. I'm so not a helicopter parent. He'll be 31.
Loverly, I am transfixed by the pic on Patty's thread. The stand of trees with yellow leaves and white trunks. Are they Poplar? Poor Mitzi, Try a massage form head to tail once a day. It may help too. She sounds so sweet.
LILgoats are you above water? I've been on a different planet. Came back to find out about Patricia only Saturday afternoon. Then all the flooding your way.
Mema How about you?
Jazzy, I guess your rain is do to Patricia too.
This weird weather. A hurricane with 200mph winds. That's going to keep meteorologists buzzing for along time.
The geomagnetic storm on the sun messing with our internet and communications. I was playing the other day when I said I did it with my wand. I bet Chevy believe me...................
-
I made a Blingee! "Sisters".....
Thanks you guys... Don't know how Theresa is yet.......... crossing my fingers....
Sass, what are you smokin? the "geo-magnetic" WHAT on the Sun? Am I having probs with my computer? And what were you doing UP 5 hours ago?
-
Chevy I'm still up. I had pain so I took a tramadol. Pain meds keep me up. I'm sensitive LOL. So, I worked on the constipation thread. Fun time sheesh. You've been busy making blingee's How do you do that? There has been a disturbance in/on the sun for about a week.. A geomagnetic thingy. Interferes with stuff on earth.
-
sas - hope your pain is gone and you went back to sleep ... Well back to bed anyway. Is dbf there ?
Chevy - will be praying for Theresa . you should wait til se gets back to the home to visit. Lots of bad germs at the hospital
Hootie hoo
-
Patty, pain partly gone. Good enough for government work......off to get more insulation. DBF's here working hard. Hope you have a fun fun day
-
Peppermint... Good to see you gal! Yes, you are right... You can get SICK in those hospitals, even where we go visit her, but we don't stay that long... I'm just anxious to talk to her DIL.... honestly, I don't think she will ever get back to the way she "was" again... Her mind is as sharp as ever, just her body is kind of failing her.... I guess her BP was sky high when they took her ... And they GIVE her BP meds.... plus she had that blood transfusion, and is on Iron pills... but Judy said her chest was full of fluid.... that's why she sounded hoarse, and out of breath... I just hope it isn't pneumonia....
I'm going tomorrow for an impression of my mouth! I'm excited! Going to get a lower partial! THEN I will have teeth all over the place! I LOVE my upper plate... had it for over 40 years, and man I can eat nails with it! Dr. Curley pulled all 8 left-over teeth on the top, and had the plate made, and plopped that thing right in!!!! My "play" teeth are so much better than my real teeth were... Look better, and are so easy to clean!
I remember cleaning my Grandma's dentures with Comet Cleanser .... Ha! It worked!
-
Hi Patty- it is good to see you back here more lately, and hope you are feeling better sister.
-
Ay yay yay, Ms. Sas. I feel for you. Hope you get some shut eyes. I get the opposite effect with Norco too. BBL
-
its quiet here today. I lost thus thread on my favorites so I searched for it under active topics. Can you believe we were on page 3...really page 3. Usually are at the very top if oae 1. Hope that means everyone is enjoying this wonderful day
Yes I do feel better. I got my chattypatty back on. So when I drone on about nothing just skip me if you want.
Chevy. -hope you get a really good fit on your dentures. Mine were a god fit but i guess tiime and wear of tr gums have gotten them very loose. I use way too much fixodent. I need to get to the dentist for s refit. After my 1st round of chemo destroyed my teeth about 12 years ago and I got them brittle and a little crooked teeth al pulled and dentures plopped in immediately like you. Man they hurt like hell getting them out since all the blood dried in them. Yuck I know tmi sorry
Hooty hoo
-
Oh Ewwwwww! Peppermint, you are supposed to take them out at least once a month he said... I remember mine "floating" that whole day and night.... and I just was "miserable" the next day.... I think all the Novacaine just drained all my blood out..... Ha!
We just asked our neighbor if he would like to clean our roof gutters! His Mom, said anytime we needed anything to ask.... So I said As a matter of fact, could he help us do the gutters? And he came right out, and we gave him $40.... He only said $30, but it was a hard job! Between all the Pine needles and the leaves, it was a MESS!
Maybe next year, he can help us finish the painting!
Heard Theresa is not in good shape.... can't walk, her legs are terribly swollen, and she can't even stand, they hurt so bad.... they have those things on her legs, that help the circulation.... She can't go back to where she is, unless she can care for herself..... Judy will call me again later...
So she is in diapers.... that will drive her nuts....the only thing GOOD with her is her MIND!
