Rose, I can't wait to see the dress. I have asked the same existential question, but I am often reminded that we live in a fallen world. Even "good" people are not immune to pain and suffering. I am sorry about your friend and hope that she recovers completely.

Ms. Sas, I hope by the time you read this, it will be morning time. I read an interesting research report regarding baclofen. Will post it tomorrow morning when I find it. Stupid me forgot to save it. It is late. I better go to sleep or I will become an insomniac.

Smarty! How did I miss THAT one? Hah! And you guys, don't go pretending that you don't know what I am talking about........... I could be right in the middle of that "scrum"....Hah! Is that what it is, when that team of guys all try and get the ball at once? I watched them practice once...

I just want you all to know, that I feel honored to be a part of your lives! One time I posted on a Stage lV thread.... just offering some kind of support to one of the gals I knew.... And one of the other gals, who thought she owned the thread, sent me a PM telling me that since I was not stage lV I should not post there.... That it was for Stage lV ONLY......

I'll never forget that.... It's like if someone becomes Stage lV they automatically have to go to another thread.... exclusive to them! So MAN did I feel bad... I'm just honored to be a part of this community, no matter what stage we are... we don't have to be separate. So I'm glad you gals with a different stage are with us here.... We can all fight this....

It's good to have "different" threads, but no-one should be excluded.... that is of course unless you are REALLY weird or something.......... I don't even have Insomnia... Yet here I am! And I ain't moving to another thread!

I could start one for Women who have had BC, Broken Hip, Appendicitis, God only knows HOW many problems with her skin, Back surgery, hearing loss, and warts! That should about cover everything.

And Rosie, I'm sorry about your friends.... Man, I was just holding my breath about Theresa, our older friend... She got a blood transfusion the other day, and NOW she is doing a lot better! I'm so happy! I asked her if she had been leaking blood all over the place, and she didn't THINK so, but they told her she had Anemia.... So now she gets iron...etc, plus the blood. I'm going to take over an iron-skillet for her to nibble on.

Why do bad things happen to good people? I read the Harold Kushner book many years ago about "When Bad Things Happen to Good People" trying to make sense of my brother's illness and death. Well, I cannot say I ever did, but what I have figured out is that eventually, everyone will have a big problem of some sort or another. Maybe even more than one big problem. Even the rotten people will too (but I call that one karma).

That being said, I do feel some families have way more tough times than others. That has certainly been true of my family. But I also learned along the way there is so much we just don't have control over in this life. You play the cards you have been dealt as best you can. Doesn't mean we are always happy either, it means we do the best with the circumstance of our life. That we do have control over.

Living well in the time we do have on this earth is the best thing any of us can do!

life ummmmmm...I was at a baby shower last month or so...and I knew some of these ladies. They asked how the cancer scene was going. Told them I had sage iv with lots of mets and stuff. I thought I said it pretty chipper. Dead silence all around the table. So I boldly said....I am not the only one that's gonna die here, you all better get a handle on that and just live as fully as you can. It baffles me when people think I have a death sentence. They make songs even to remind us....born to die. Etc. moving on

I have found some great recipes for gluten and dairy free. Just got done making pizzas again. It is such a nice quick go to food to grab fast. I individually wrap them in foil...and it's good to go. Then with all the veggies I have chopped and sautéed, I make a frittata. Love it when I can chop and sauté once and have 2 meals.

The fall is looking lovely here.

Anybody else proud of my Cubs!!!

    Have a good day all.

Hope sas is having sweet dreams :)

I surely hope Sassy is sleeping soundly! She surely deserves it! Chevy I sure hope my friend recovers. Honestly she is determined and full of courage withamazing support. Still she and her DH are older and there will be major changes ahead for them.

Home health was supposed to come today and drain the ascites. Well I ordered vacuum containers on Tuesday because I used them all and only have one left. They said they would send 2 cases. Well here it is Friday and zip. So the home health nurse calls and the supply company hadnt sent anything! They said they needed authorization. WTH? I was told they could send 5 cases. I ordered 2 and here they didn't send them or call to say they wouldn't send them. If the nurse hadn't called ugh.. here I get this great catheter placed to drain at home and can't get the supplies to use it! Ironic or what?? They said vacuum containers will come Staturday. We will see. grr..

Soon as DH comes home I will send a picture of the dress. :-) I watched a TV show on Vinnie the nipple tattoo artist. Kind of neat.

I just read what Susan wrote and had to clap! Yess!!! Good you reminded them of the inevitable - death and taxes.

Nice one Smarrty :) Queenie, I agree we are down the rabbit hole. Tea anyone? Rosie, It is interesting about bone mets, that if we get mets that's the one we want. I know Patty at this time wouldn't agree. But it is bizarre that we would talk this way isn't it? Only here(BCO), would that seem normal. Jazzy, maybe you could get someone to make you a pan. 10,000$ seems awfully high( it was mentioned in the comments that it was the price). Rosie, Hope you friend does okay with the aneurysm and aftermath. Enerva, time slows me down, then the recovery is slow slow slow. Tang, I'll try to not wreck myself. The collision shop is having more trouble than they used to in putting me back together. Loverly, looking forward to the baclofen article. Thanks Chevy for finding Vinnie's video. Dear brother Charlie had his open heart surgery Thurs. Off ventilator today, eating, walking.Yay :) Hugs my lovelies

Scottish breakfast tea for me, in a bottle labeled "Drink me". Glad you're at least up and capable of posting a single entry of no more than two paragraphs. And glad that your brother's off the ventilator etc.

Sassy- you can get a nice tenor pan for around $1500. I think they may go up as high as $10K though. I am going to the place in Riverside in Dec to try some out!

Glad your brother came through surgery and is doing better. Wishing him better days.

Pardon my stupidity but what kind of pan could cost 10K? A bargain for 1500?? UGH???

Rose- all instruments have a rang of prices. There are violins that cost a few hundred dollars to many millions. Same for many other instruments that start in the hundreds and go into the thousands. I think the Stradivarius is the only thing that is worth millions though.

That being said, I don't know what a $10K pan would offer. The more notes they have, the pricier they are. I am seeking a 29 note pan like the one I learned on, along with the stand, mallets, covers, etc. Otherwise known as "gig ready!"

The link that Chevy posted for Jazzy about a pan, had a comment below it that it was 10K. I know nothing about real costs. Jazzy's on top of the price. But the music that little lady was playing was mellow.

ok, I missed something. sassy, why did your brother have sx again? Don't have to answer but if you mentioned it before, sorry I didn't see it.

Dog, I updated my iPad and I hate it! Now it's overheating. Think I'll buy a new one tomorrow. I also have a class reunion tomorrow night. It's a multiple years so I'm going with my DS. Mine is 68 and hers was 72.

Oh, ok. You are awake. Good to hear about your brother.

Here is the link. It is meaty. The interesting part is found in section IIIA5, right after figure 4. Interesting paradoxical reaction to baclofen.

Apparently herceptin causes brain damage I wasn't even thinking musical... duh.. When they drain ascites I guess intelligence drops too. How sad. My DD2 played violin for a while in elementary school and that itty bitty thing was 500$. Ok now that I have admitted my stupidity I will go hide.

As long as we are down stupid lane I will share a story. (groan..) When we first moved to Oregon in 2000 we had some neighbors who had a Grandmother with a thick accent. She is from Albania or Kosvo or somewhere that way. She looks just like Mother Teresa. Sweetest little Grandmother ever! She is 4 ft nothing teeny tiny and will hug you and say"God BLEESSS YOU!" Anyway where we came from there were no Costco stores. This family invited us over for Costco lasagna. We thought how exotic! Wonder what that will be like? (exactly like any Italian lasagna!) Well my DH and I roared when we finally figured out Costco wasn't Kosvo, and what Costco was. It's the accent... hahaha Ok now you will all wonder how I function at all eh?

Rose, humility is a good trait. Haha. I love Mother Teresa. She was and still is my role model. She loved and didn't push the Gospel down people's throat. We need more people like her just like we need more people like your elder friend.I always have an affinity for older folks maybe because I had never met any of my grandparents.

Ms. Chevy, I got my daily dose of laughter from you too. Iron skillet humor is priceless.

Ms. Smaarty, I forgot to ask you when and where woul you like to have lunch? I need to stop assuming people read my mind.

Ms. Sas, here is a link to muscle relaxants. Baclofen does cross the blood brain barrier, but in small amount. Forgot the %.

Today is DDs birthday. She is 44, and that really makes me feel old. Her boys ruined her birthday for her. I've said all along they are bad boys, yesterday proved it.

They were in another school while DD and another teacher were planning a Veterans Day concert.

They trashed a classroom. Flipped computers, wrote on confidential papers, left candy all over. Just awful.

They are banned from that school.

I'm upset too, can't come up with a punishment severe enough to make an impression on them.

One week into this school year I refused to watch them after school anymore. They are 8 and 10.
