hi

I have been taking fulvestrant for 6 months and then due to an administration error I missed a dose and OMG what a difference it made.my pain level decreased so much.my hair started to grow back and all sorts of things improved during the month I was off it..I recently panicked and went back on it but now I am left wondering if I have done the right thing.has anyone got any ideas or had similar experiences with this drug?

Hi, hothead, and welcome to BCO! There is an active thread about Faslodex (fulvestrant). Here's a link: https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/8/topic/8...

I think the answer to your question might depend on what stage you are. If you are Stage IV, the stage most commonly given this drug, I can't imagine not taking it, assuming it is keeping you stable or NED. I'm not sure I've heard of women taking it if they are a lower stage, but perhaps others have.

Sometimes SEs get better when you go off a drug and back on it. Perhaps that will happen for you now. Or you might consider using some natural products, such as curcumin, to help with joint pain.

But do check out the link I gave you. Deanna
