pains in shins and arimidex

Has anyone experienced pain below the knee in the shins outer and inner area whilst on the als.  It is not agony nor does it stop be walking but they are stabbing, achy pains and something I have never had.  I have been on arimidex over 2 years now and experienced many ses which come and go.  Unfortunately, I am very anxious about recurrence so every ses is a  met to  me, recently though I have started to deal with the fears better.  I would normally rush to the dr and get a scan.  I have had so many this year.  Mris and cts from my neck to my pelvis all clear.  My drs say more unnecessary tests are  not the answer.

So I thought I would ask you ladies if anyone else has had this and if it went.  I have started claritin a couple of days ago but no change as yet.  It is only one leg which I guess is more of a worry to  me.   my dr says mets are rare below knee or elbow especially as the first place and  I have been scanned down to  bottom of pelvis.  Of course I think I am the rare one to get it.

I agree, continuous tests are not the answer but it is hard to  believe arimidex can cause this.

I was stage 1 grade 2 node neg er pos her2 neg 1cm detected on mammo non palpable no LVI.

Any advise welcomed

 Maria

Honestly you can get any SE from any drug. Anything is possible. I would wait a while to see if it goes away on its own before getting it checked out. IMO bone mets in that area would be very uncommon. Good luck.

Have you started a new excercise? Walking, biking, swim? Anything out of your ordinary

No nothing like that, I do have degenerative arthritis in spine etc seen on mri in  march,  it is just such an odd stabbing pain.  I suppose I worry as it is different.  Dr not concerned and it is not that painful it is just the thought of it being a met.

    Hi maria26:

Along Spookie's line of thinking, as a possibility not related to AI or anything bad, have you considered "shin splints"? It occurs in ordinary non-athletes also. You might not realize what you did to trigger it.

If a possibility, a physical therapist might be able to evaluate that and suggest some exercises and light treatments.

    Thanks girls,

I am calmer today, re read my mri report from 6 months back on lumber and pelvic regions.  I have L4 L 5 slippage  degenerative disc disease facet joint arthritis posterior disc bulging and narrowing of spinal canal encroachment on exit foramina.  Not sure what it all means but the main thing was it said no evidence of metastic disease.  Yet, I still worry and I had back pain then but not shin pain.  So I see why the drs dont want to run more tests just yet.

It is a sort of shin splints pain but to my shame I have never exercised in my life.  I am skinny enough and normally pretty fit.

Thanks again one lovely lady answered my message who had had shin pains and had had bone scans which showed nothing and it was aromasin. So perhaps the arimidex is to blame or the fact I am very flat footed more so lately lol,  the link you gave me said flat feet can cause shin pain tks BarredOwl

Maria, I just sent you a pm regarding my one shin splints. I see now that you are flat footed. I thought I should note that I am also flat footed.
