Thanks mysunshine. I think you're right. I had an endoscopy once but they gave me twilight sedation. Ds has to have Gen. Anes. with intubation because of the asthma. We haven't told him yet. I'm hoping he'll ask questions Friday but if not we'll wait to tell him.
I'm now pathetically competing with 19yo dd on the Fitbit. We get weekly comparisons but it's soooo unfair. She gets to wear hers during soccer practice and totally puts me to shame. LOL
They need a water proof Fitbit that counts swimming. I'm taking that back up this winter to help with my ROM and overall recovery.

Did yoga this morning, then worked in the yard. We are pulling out all the old rubber edging and putting cement pavers all around the whole house. As part of the project, we are cleaning all of the dirt, twigs, leaves etc. that have accumulated over the last many years, AND we are expanding the front porch....ARGH! I was so tired that I passed out for about 45 minutes before I went to Zumba. I am subbing tomorrow so will have an excuse NOT to work in the yard!!!!
-
Walked around in the mall last night while hubby was at his dental appointment.
-
Off to take bike ride. Scottie, I also wish fitbit were waterproof as I now do lots of water aerobics and water volleyball. I want it to all upload itself (biking as well) so I don't have to do it manually. Guess that all will happen in a future version.
-
Just under 10 miles on the bike. Cooled down at home for about an hour but mid-90's here - time to head out to the pool.
-
I don't understand why Fitbits aren't waterproof to begin with. One of my Cub Scouts killed his at camp taking his swim test. (At least the dad was with us and said it was already abused.)
I ran walked 2 miles this morning. More running than walk. So I think that's pretty good for 13 days post LX and SLNB.
-
Gonna do the workout I had planned for last night which got postponed because of hubby's dental appointment. At least I did some walking in the mall while he was in the dentist's chair.
-
Outrunning, that's great - more running. I thought I would get back into a little running then moved here to FL and the heat/humidity tells me, 'no way' unless I want to run at 6 am while I'm still asleep! We'll see what the winter brings.

Have been MIA just busy but keeping up with the exercise, did Grit Strength last Wednesday, Body Pump and Grit Cardio Thursday, Zumba Friday, rest day Saturday, Body Combat and Body Flow sunday, insane crazy zumba last night and Grit Strength this morning - my BFF is in from Tennessee so it's girls catch-up tonight at the Cheesecake Factory tonight.
There is a waterproof tracker called Moov, it's new on the market and not expensive. Outrunning your DD is gorgeous, spending time together creating memories is a wonderful way to spend your day. Patoo you sure are taking advantage of your surroundings. Scottie I get the "competition" bit, I compete with myself then I completely forget to wear it and get mad at myself - like today when I realized I didn't have it on and I was in a class where my heart rate jumps at the warm up and stays up till the cool down, oh well. Sweet so sorry to hear about your MIL. Nats that photo is eerily beautiful. Ruth I know what a wonderful person you are so I can only imagine the kind of teacher you were/are what a lovely testament to you all that she is your Homecoming Queen. On Saturday my friends and I went to a dance performance at a local Performing Arts School, firstly their theatre rivals any of the "big" ones around here and it has inspired me to be on the lookout for productions they put on - stars of stage and screen start somewhere so I intend to support these kids. LB sorry we weren't able to get together but it was lovely to speak with you while you were here and I certainly hope you weren't on AA cause I know someone who worked the LAX/LHR flight last week, best wishes for your next chapter, you will do great.
-
Subbed today (8,377 steps), I have Book Club tonight so am skipping my exercise class.....maybe I will do a little stretching before I go or after I get home.....my back hurts from all the cement block hefting yesterday!
-
50 minute walk with my little grand-dog today.
-
Cheryl: I always love to read the names of your classes! You've been very busy.
Ruth: My back hurts just thinking about all the cement blocks you've moved.
Hi All. Nice cool weather makes for a nice walk/run!
-
Hi everyone, had a lovely walk around the lake this afternoon after a busy morning. About 7000 steps by bedtime, which is nearing my personal goal.
I do feel better when I move so I'm focusing on that.
-
I never swam with my fitbit (bracelet type) but wore it in the shower many times with no adverse effects, at least not that I noticed.
-
Ruth, love the picture and story. Speaks volumes about the youth there.
Wil definitely try roasting some veggies after the tips!
Spent Sunday as a rest day but have been back to bootcamp tonight and last night. Tonight's class featured lots of Indian runs which are my least favorite exercise so tomorrow will likely be a walk to ease stiffness.
Have a good night all
-
sweet, I don't think getting it wet in the shower would be a problem but totally immersing in a pool, probably not a good idea. I thought about a double or triple baggie but not sure I want to chance ruining it as they are not cheap. Maybe if my old fitbit ever turns up I will test with that.
Hung out at the pool running/kicking/jumping/moving, until pruning set in (over 2 hours) then sat poolside and read for awhile.
Night sculpted friends.
-
PT and taxes today (yes I mean 2014 before extension runs out). I think both should count as exercise. Did manage 6,100 steps today.

hi all, been MIA but exercising, will claim 20 miles walked since last post.
Thank you all for being wonderful humans. Reading this thread this morning was the perfect antidote to my sadness over my friend Chris (aka thefuzzylemon) passing away from BC yesterday. Glad for once I'm up super-early so I could catch up on the goings-on here. Love you ladies!
-
Badger- I'm so sorry about Chris.
Cheryl - your schedule wears me out just reading about it. Ruth - a kettlebell workout would be nothing for you after hefting those cement blocks! Scottie - sweating over taxes definitely counts as a workout!
Last Nats game of the season for us last night. They lost (par for the course this year) but it was a lovely night, and even a bad night at a baseball game beats a good night pretty much anywhere else as far as I'm concerned! We took the Metro to Union Station, then walked down to the ballpark and back. It's about 2 miles each way, and one of my favorite walks because we walk in historic Capitol Hill, and as part of the walk we pass right next to the Capitol. We saw lots and lots of security being put in place because of the Pope - he's addressing Congress tomorrow, so they were already putting up security fencing and sealing off the area. The Capitol dome is undergoing a renovation and is covered in scaffolding. It looks kind of yucky during the day, but there's a neat effect at night - I took this last night as we walked by.
-
Amazing Mary-thanks for the photo. Cheryl, you are so kind and I too wish I was not on the family treadmill for every minute and could have had some moments with you. Next time for sure! Scottiemom11, you have my sympathy and HeidiHill a wave across the channel to you!
Vi-box and body balance this morning.
-
Badger, I am so sorry about Chris. I didn't know her but know of her and she seemed like a real spitfire. So, so sad.
-
Mary, beautiful picture. You will have to root for the Twins now as they still have a long shot chance at the playoffs. WWW took a lovely walk around the local college campus. One of the ladies hosted breakfast afterwards so we more than gained back any calories we might have lost walking.

Zumba and yoga tonight.
-
Badger - so sorry about Chris. Pontiac Peggy from the arimidex thread just lost her DH to cancer too.
Ruth - quite a crowd today!
Another 45-50 minute walk with grandpuppy today. Hope to get clearance next week for at least slightly more strenuous activity. Fall weight loss challenge began at the office today so I went in for my official weigh- in. One word - CRAP!! Good thing is it's a percentage of weight lost measurement so I do have an advantage over many others starting out🙌
-
Anybody had Cording after LX? I'm going to see the nurse practitioner in the BS office tomorrow after I meet with the RO. But in the early morning I see my trainer. He's really good. He has a full in degree in Kinesiology and does muscle activation techniques plus a bunch of other stuff. But just incase he's not familary with cording. Does anyone have any experience in what not to do. E.g. I could just do core and legs tomorrow. If arms okay at the weights BS said before maybe just avoid over head press, and such? which I probably would anyway.
So far today nothing but walking the kids to school. Only 1.4 beause I took the direct route back walking their scooters. Then had work men in the house so couldn't go out for more. Teleworking today and tomorrow because my office is too close to the White House and the Pope's visit road closures are making the whole area nearly impossible to get to.
-
Outrunning - I had cording and later developed full-blown lymphedema. Unfortunately no one told me that some studies show that cording is associated with the later development of lymphedema, so I didn't take it as seriously as I should have. I would suggest that you find a qualified Lymphedema Therapist. Overdoing upper body can definitely trigger LE, and since you've had two nodes removed you're at an increased risk, so you definitely want to be cautious.
The LE section here on BCO is excellent, and there's a wonderful website about all things LE: http://www.stepup-speakout.org/ Here's their section on cording: http://www.stepup-speakout.org/Cording_and_Axillary_Web_Syndrome.htm
I'm staying out of DC today and tomorrow with all the Pope traffic nightmares!!!!! If I want to watch the Pope, I'll do it from the comfort of my couch.
-
badger, sorry to hear of Chris passing. ruthbru, nice pic.
Did hour and half Leslie Sansone group class. Great workout. Then wen to see "Perfect Guy" - Good movie but I'm getting too old for that stuff. Don't even know why I went but someone had mentioned it and I was walking by the movie theater this afternoon with time to kill. Good thing I don't have a weak heart.
badger, how is mom? Give her a big hug from me next time you visit.
-
Thanks Nats. I gave that a read. And here with only two nodes removed I thought I was safe from the lymphedema issues. Silly me.
-
I walked 30 minutes at lunch and 25 after work and now I'm starting my YouTube yoga.
-
I honestly don't know how you all do it - I've increased my walking ( double ) and tonight I'm completely exhausted.
Appreciate all the inspiration!
-
Also at my RO visit she noted I have a little external (visible) cording. I haven't thought much of it with only 1 lymph node removed. But with this discussion I'll mention it as I meet with a weight loss coach tomorrow. I'm part of a clinical trial that looks at the effects of weight loss and exercise is part of it. I want to do the right types.
Outrunning I would be curious what BS advises.
