I am new to breastcancer.org but my orginal doc told me that this was the best site with out a lot of DOOM and GLOOM (lol).... Anyway, I was diagnosed with breast caner in 2008, had a lumpectomy, chemo, herceptin, radiation, 5 years of hormone pill/shot (ovary suppression) and NOW on tamoxifen for about a year. Haven't had a period since I statred the chemo in '08 however, last night I had some discharge (light brown and clear) & today it is bleeding for sure. Called my Oncologist and she is sending me for a pelvic ultrasound.....i have no idea what to think! She asked if i was pregnant but with no period in over 8 years and a partner that has had a vacectomy that was totally ruled out. Please help with any advice or if anyone has experieced the same thing. I am 39 years old and was dianosed when I was 32 going on 33.

glad you found us. I am sure others will chime in. tamoxifen can cause your endometrial lining to grow. are you still on ovary suppression shots? In any case, it sounds like both you and your oncologist are right on top of this. It is possible that depending on the results of the pelvic ultrasound - your doctor might suggest an endometrial biopsy or a d&c. Hope it turns out to be nothing - in any event - welcome!!

    Hi Mperez-

We want to welcome you to our community here at BCO! Like Jelson said, it could be related to the thickening of the endometrial lining and it being shed. But it's definitely good that you're getting it checked out, and that your doc is on the same page as you! Please keep us posted on how the ultrasound goes, we'll be thinking of you!
