Hi! Back to work this week and already feeling tired 😴
I lost 2 pounds while away but I've been indulging this week on my favourite foods that I couldn't get in Japan.....yummy!
Next week I've decided to start a 12 week exercise and eating program so I hope to be feeling and looking great by Christmas!
Janet and Kathy, do you have any plans for the lead up to Christmas
-
Hi, Tammy!! We just ate at a Japanese restaurant tonight!! So enjoyed it!!
What is your exercise program?? Would love to do it with you both!!!
-
hi ladies! Tammy, please share I would like to have a plan also! Didn't do great on the scale this week. Up a pound :-(
-
Janet, a simple plan....1,500 cals/ day, 5 days training per week....2 days cardio, 2 days strength and one day mixed! I am feeling ready
-
You go girl!!! 1500 cal is not very much..be careful....Keep us posted...

Happy Friday! I am down almost 2 lbs!!! I'm still playing catch up from the continuous weight gain I've been on, but the good news it is going in the right direction. I have been eating smaller portions and not snacking. Taking a mile walk in the morning with my dog and then again in the evening. Every morning it is the same struggle with this PMR, I am in pain and have difficulty getting around. By the afternoon I am much better, but start the same thing the next day. It is a crazy disease, looking forward to it burning it self out and getting off this prednisone!! Stay strong ladies and have a wonderful weekend!!
-
Tammy, I would love to stick to 1,500 calories! I will try so hard!! On vacation last week, gained the 3 lbs back, but trying to eat normal this week!!! You will be my vice this week!!
Janet, good job!!! So sorry to hear about your pain and condition, prayers for complete healing, Hon!!
-
Well I'm trying but not always achieving.....exercise ✔️ 1,500 👎🏻
I only lost a pound but feel great!
Janet, hope you get there soon too!
Kathy, we expect a progress report....positive or negative......
-
Yes, indeed, I will weigh in on Friday!!!😃
-
Hey, Tammy and Janet!! You are both my inspiration!! Lost 2 of the pounds I gained! Thank you for always being my voices!
-
Prior to my diagnosis I was a regular at the gym. I refused to accept that menopause was going to cause weight gain...I am a stubborn women. Exercise and diet helped my physically and mentally deal with menopause. So I was gutted, excuse the pun, to hear that weight gain is one of those wonderful side effects that can be expected with breast cancer treatment. The emotional roller coaster we are all on is not an easy ride. I have decided I will focus on what I can do. Week one after chemo I could only manage a walk. Week two and three I got back into the gym, some days I could do more than others. I guess my message is try...you're so worth the effort. Round two this week so making the most of a beautiful day with walk along the coast of course with sunscreen, hat and covered from head to toe☺
-
Hi, Cinque and Welcome!! We are a small group here, but mighty!! Walking is such a good form of exercise, physically and mentally!! I am sure you had a beautiful walk! How much longer will you be on Chemo? Sounds like you are doing just fine!! So glad you came here!
-
Kathy, great result!
Cinque, welcome....many things have changed but we can still do many things!
-
Thank you, Tammy!! I used to lose weight when we went on vacation😉 We did lots of walking, but also had good food and wine! Back on track this week!! How are you doing? I am really trying to follow your 1,500 calorie diet! Thank you!! And no sugar and salt!
-
Hello Kindergarten thanks for the welcome. If all goes well I finish chemo on on Christmas Eve. My second one is today. I am coping much better than I thought I would. I shaved my head this week and that was easier than I though it would be. I have a great wig. I had my lymph nodes removed and commenced lifting weights this week..lighter than usual. I feel no pain its been six weeks since surgery is this too soon? So glad I found you.

Hi Tammy_43
Many things have changed and I like everyone else who is diagnosed has had to make adjustments and its not easy. Forums like this are so encouraging and have helped motivate me. I felt like my life been taken away from me on diagnosis but I've since learnt it is the waiting that is the worst and in fact its just a different life and I can do so much..more than I thought. Take care.
-
Wow, Cinque, lifting some weights is awesome!! I think it is fine as long as you don't lift more than 5 lbs, but I would check with my onc!! You inspire me! The ladies here are so supportive and encouraging!! take this time to pamper yourself!!!
-
Cinque, I agree the waiting is the worst!
I stayed the same weight this week.....but I had been away for my birthday which is next Wednesday!
This is week 3 of my gym workouts and I feel great....any weight loss would be a bonus.
-
Staying the same weight some weeks is totally normal. I had some holiday weight to lose when I was diagnosed and I was so depressed to find out about gaing weight. All I could was try my best I ate very well and healthy, good nutrition is always number one factor in weight loss. So lots of excellent quality foods and exercise. Which was circuit classes at my gym and nice walks when I was feeling a little tired. No exercise today...just tired. Walks planned for the weekend. Remember the NO DIET Rule applies on birthdays. Have a great one.
Maria
-
Maria, thanks for the birthday advice! I enjoy walking too and after many years of an early morning walk my body automatically expects it 😀
I had a great exercise day today....dragon boat paddling first thing and then a gym session. I'll be resting tomorrow! The gym work has really helped my paddling! There is a big breast cancer paddling regatta in Florence Italy in 2018 that our team want to attend....wow, that would be wonderful!
I hope everyone is well
-
Hi Tammy
Chemo fog today for me but I managed to get out for a bit to the shops with a friend which was more than I expected to do today. Tomorrow should be better so will start with walk and a stretching session. Florence we were there in June I loved it. That trip was before my diagnosis and is my happy place. If you and your team are determined to get there I know you will xxx
-
Hi, Everyone!! Lost a half pound last week, but had company thiis weekend, and we ate well!! Back on track this week, and walking!!!
Tammy, the dragon boat racing sounds great, you are really on track'
Cinque, you are doing fantastic in the midst of Chemo!! Do whatever it takes to keep you in a happy place!!

Hi everyone, I had a great birthday and I'm staying away from the scales just now 😉
I'm exercising well though and feel good!
Maria, great that you're feeling like exercising, it is good for the body and mind
Kathy and Janet, good work with your losses!
-
A decent walk today. It was quite warm especially with my wig but the sun felt lovely. I tell you what else was lovely apple crumble and ice cream. Well I can't be good all the time
-
Hi ladies! I got to do something today I have wanted to do for almost 3 years. Super Storm Sandy caused a breach on our barrier island and we have wanted to go see it. Due to my many physical complications over the years, I haven't been able to do it. Today the weather was cooperating and so was my aches & pains so I gave it a try and made it!! 2 miles there and 2 miles back!! The most I have been walking was 1 mile in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. Hopefully I won't be sore tomorrow. It was such a beautiful walk and the weather cooperated for this time of the year. Beautiful landscape and recently changed from hurricane Joachin.....what power the ocean has!!
Stay well ladies and keep up the good work
-
Janet, how wonderful! A very decent walk!
Did someone say apple crumble???? Yummy!
-
Don't temp me....I'm going out east to the farms today!!!
-

Good, job, Janet!! You are awesome!!
Hi, Maria, that dessert sounds heavenly, and you took a walk, too!! Awesome!!!
