INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Yes Rosie.... Ever since I thought of "rubbing" that leg while up on a foot-stool, and TREATING it like Lymphedema, because of Spookie, it is much better. I still wear compression stockings, but my leg feels "normal" now! No more lumps, or swelling, or hard places, and it doesn't hurt like it did. My ankle looks humanly...
I'm going to send Janie a little card...
-
awwwww....very sweet card. It is so hard when our pets leave us. They take a piece our hearts with them. There got to be pet heaven.
-
-
Chevy, that card is so sweet.

I did a good thing today. A memory surfaced, worked it through. Had to teach the nurse why Charlie needed to be on Oxygen even though the O2 sat looked good at 96%. She then had to teach the doc. Cool. He's now on 2 L's continuous. Sure wish that memory surfaced before this.
I called the pathology department at Univ of Mich. Usually, they wouldn't talk to an 'outsider'. I knew this. I said to the gal this may pique their interest, if you tell them they're 25:53(54) blood relatives with primary cancers. Three with kidney cancer. I knew it would be a gotcha. I got a call back in < 5 minutes. Doc asked all kinds of questions. Cool. Now may be we will get someone looking at genetics. Charlie's type of kidney cancer is very rare worldwide--- 5%--. Therefore, it's been hard to study. With this kind of genetic pool, it would be of untold value for a researcher.
Been trying to get someone interested forever. When twin got BC in 1996, I offered to have any test they would want done. Tissue biopsy & lab. My cousin was being treated /eval'd by the woman that identified the BRAC gene. She wanted sisters blood and records. Twice she turned my cousin down RE: me. I still feel that was a loss to science. Identical twin stuff go figure.

They have previously done a culture and determined the bacteria was staph aureus....That was several flares ago, but I imagine it's likely the same...
-
Kath.... I printed that picture off for me when we lost Lacee....They just are always in our hearts....
That's right Mags........ Nothing like our pets.......
xoxoxo Loverly........

Chatfield --wondered where you went too. I'm on a mission right now. Can you expand upon what your question is and refresh my memory as to what's up. Likely, won't be back on till tomorrow afternoon. Family stuff and then a doc appt. in morning. Staph Aureus is a normal bacteria of the skin. It has lived with us for thousands of years. Once in a wound it can be troublesome. But unless it's classified as MRSA--methicillin resistant staph aureus. It should respond well to antibiotics. The problem is to not let the docs over treat. Good Luck.

Today is Kris' gotcha day. 3 years ago, in the midst of chemo, we got him. My chemo experience got worse after he came, but he was and is a good boy.
So I took myself out for dinner tonight. Pulled in front of this place, totally NOT prepared for what was on their windows. PINK OR BUST with pink bras painted on the windows. The 20 something hostess hands me a menu and explains the specials. Then I asked her what the pink crap was about.
Oh she chirps. We're starting breast cancer awareness early! And for a dollar more, you can get PINK tacos!!!
I ran my hand across my boobless chest. Said I was very aware of bc, handed her the menu, said I couldn't eat there, and left.
Went to another place, trying hard not to cry. Just upsetting.
-
(hands you a fistful of handkerchieves) Of course it's upsetting. It's stupid. It's clueless.
-
Almost teary reading your last sentence.
BIG SQUEEZING HUG
-
Awww Spooks. I'm sorry. It stinks. Good for you for leaving. They are clueless.
-
((((((HUGS))))) Spookie. It so sucks.
-
I knew you all would get it.
-
Holy CHIT!!!
I better go to bed. It's just getting WORSE!!!!!!!!!
DH just had Kris in the side yard, off leash. Said either a coyote or bobcat just ran through and Kris went nuts.
-
Yikes!!! And I thought you only have problems with alligators. Good thing Kris is safe
-
We do have gators around here, and they will go after dogs. I'm not real close to fresh water, so not so much gator fear. The other critters, now I'm afraid to take Spookie out she might look like a snack, and they could clear a 5' fence.
-
I undersand that everyone has there own beliefs. But right now I need to bring this to this place. A viable man can be lost bc/ of screw ups.. If in your heart you can say this prayer. Thank you
PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
+
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God - cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits, who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. PRAYER TO ST MICHAELSaint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

It is in my heart. I will say it for you. For him.
-
It'll be a first for me.. but for friends and DB here goes! ((((hugs)))) to all who need them.
-
Praying for God's Devine intervention and His peace for you and family.
-
Spookie- that really sucks. Pinktober early and no clue what they are doing or saying. I can only imagine how bad you felt. Good for you for walking out. Never go back.
Sassy- I hope you are doing okay and that you are able to help your DB as best you can. He is lucky to have you as an advocate.
-
spookie--so sorry you were made to fell so sad. Pink sucks. People suck sometimes too.
Sas--it was a first for me also. Contained prayers
-
A first for me as well Sassy but for DB here goes. I do believe Satan is out roaming.
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8
-
Spookie - I think I would have barfed on the menu. Show them. Glad Kris is OK. Maybe walk him on a leash in the yard. Did that with my baby when she was tiny, owl sized meal.
-
*Sassy and DB*
-
YAY Spookie, course the guys monitoring me are trying to figure out why I googled bombs exploding. I won't explain it to to them.
-
LOvely OWlies, I'm not reading much I' will catch up. Thank you for the wonderful support. Just totally bummed at screw up and missups. Charlie is the total poster child-------aka poster adult that did every thing right in his life..................If he gets out of this fiasco, I will be amazed. Clustrerf**k.
There is a rare occurrence that I have observed that their is a patient that if every thing that could go wrong ---goes wrong. The comment would be ---"We need to get them out of here before we kill them". I'm afeared Charlie is in that category. Something as simple as explaining why he needed to be on Oxygen. Duh...
The fact is he's still bleeding since a week ago Tuesday. WTF. Which is evidenced by his labs...........long story..............next lab should be available

Hey Ladies,
I am still here just not on as much. I had my MRI yesterday it was not fun. The woman who put my IV in dug around for a while in my wrist because the veins in my arms are to small and deep, she than said I really need a small needle and how she only has a big one and that's all that can be used to put the dye in. She finally got it in the top of the other wrist. The MRI was so uncomfortable, it was not what I expected, my surgeon said it was like a massage table with openings for your breast. Wrong! It was bad I ate before and had a hard time with it pressing on my upper abdomen and lower rib cage but finally calmed down enough to get it done. I was really surprised with my surgeon giving me bad information because she specializes in onocolgy breast surgery. Well hopefully will know something soon and be able to get surgery scheduled, she wanted to do the MRI first so she know what and how much to remove. She seems to really care though and is going to try and get my insurance to pay for BRCA testing. She is the first surgeon I have spoke to that actually agree that I may be a good candidate for a mastectomy or double mastectomy even for preventative measures if nothing else. Well that's all for now, will post updates as get them. Thanks for all the support.
-
Nope lab not available, Chit.......not scheduled till 6am, they''ll draw around 4.................His post transfusion numbers(4hourss), Tells me he's still bleeding somewhere, Since his urine is clear...................unidentified bleed.....................Since he had a clot in the retroperitoneal space.................could be there. Doc's refusing imaging., The retroperitoneal space can hold 2000cc of blood...................oozed over 10 days and continuing to ooze. Chit. Hope I'm wrong. Would love to be wrong. His numbers don't support me being wrong. Chit....................................
When the surgeon came back into town after the long weekend, they did an embolization of the venous vessel.. They put a plug in the bleeder, they could see. which by that time developed an 5 cm aneurysm.
But on a very happy note, his surgeon flew off to Europe.....................NOT..............Clusterf**k
