You're hilarious. Here's me (about a year pre-treatment--note the amazing long [2"] and dark hair) with a cartoon friend as a symbol of solidarity.

But I am so jealous that you have lashes! I have had none since early June!

Renee, Hope the new position goes well!

    Melb, Congratualtions!!!!!!!!!!!

    Dizz park, Soooo close!

Between the chemo nurses and docs and now the rads nurses and docs, they pay more attention to minute weight changes than my docs did during pregnancy! I understand why, but geez!

Hurray for everyone out of chemo! You WILL start feeling better soon.

Muscle pain and Taxol - DON'T PANIC! Groin pain is usually coming from your hip joint. I have had muscle pain in my hip replacement since starting Taxol, especially when the muscles stiffen up with sitting. Obviously, there's no bone there for cancer to settle in. I think Taxol does a number on existing joint or muscle issues, so we all just need to give it some time. I'm reminding myself to stand up and stretch every 20 minutes, and to stretch before getting out of bed and that makes a lot of difference. As someone said earlier - about as much time to recover as you spent in treatment. Taxol is a mean one with the body pain, and unfortunately, it seems to want to linger for a while.

I have hair on my head - yahoo! But I had to pluck my brows - hair growing where it doesn't belong but not where it does.

I have nice eyelashes - on ONE eye!! So what's with the other one?

Weirdly enough, after I flipped out about it, my hip pain went away. It's back now and definitely related to the stairmaster. Please remind me of this next time I freak. πŸ˜‘

Gko, right there withat the errant brows. It's everywhere I don't want it to be!

Addie! Look at all the hair!!

Dolphin, ask about short and long term side effects, timeline of skin breakdown, what things not to eat or drink, what skin potions to use...

Wow, we are all getting so close! No one left behind we are with you the whole way!

Having so much lash, brow, hair envy looking at all those pics. Seriously, if I woke up with anything resembling what ya'll have in the morning, I would start dancing.

Something I've taken for granted...itching my eyebrow in public without fear that I had wiped it off. And, yes I did. I just pulled my hat down really low and avoided eye contact.

Dizz park, wiping off my eyebrows is one of my biggest frustrations! I have a brow pencil with me all the time!!!!!

Radiating the neck= sore throat. Boooooo!!!! Looks like I have an excuse to eat lots of ice cream

littleblue I went from your stage to a big fuzz head in about 2-3 weeks. Once it starts growing, it comes in fast. I have all these weird cow licks now and unless I gel it straight up, I look hilarious. I am waiting for the next stage when I can gel it and get it to lay down. My little brother (just visited him) and I have the same haircut right now. Somebody saw me from the back and called me Nik, which is my brothers name.

When I wake up in the morning, my hair is all kinds of crazy.

Littleblue, your head looks like mine! I am thrilled to have something there though. I keep patting the top of my head just to feel the hair! It seems to be coming in unevenly though. Just above the forehead there is very little hair...I am hoping I won't have a bald spot and look like my hairline is receding!

I am wishing I had some eyelashes. I have a few very light ones...essentially none. My eyebrows are thin but at least they exist.

Melb, congrats on finishing!!!!! And Dizz, only a few more days!

I cannot wait for radiation to be done. It is such a drag going to the cancer clinic every day, not to mention being away from home

I go to radiation in a hospital with a pretty spread-out service area in multiple buildings, Since I've ditched the wig and now just wear my budding hair, big earrings and a ball cap, I apparently look like a cancer services expert, as people stop me to ask directions to the mammography clinic, MRI imaging, PET scan area, chemo clinic, etc. Yesterday, the lady wanted to know where she goes to pay her insurance co-pay. Of course, I am a cancer services expert, so I guess I should just ask the hospital for a name tag and a small "hostess gift" .

At least no one has asked why I have eyelashes on just one eye.

Went away to Chicago for family reunion of sorts. Was really good for my soul and kids happiness.

Read through the past few days...congrats on all those done with chemo, hooray for emu oil, and yes, the joint/muscle/fat pain. Mets is something I think about too...the new normal or anxieties. I have a small lump under my breast scar and perhaps some cording. Going to see my MO and PS in 2 wks. I try to hold any negative thoughts away....and manage to, especially when I am outside or exercising. Damn cancer!

My period has returned with my hormonal migraines. Grrrrr. So pre-menopausal I am. I joined the LIVESTRONG at the Y program and love it. Yeah. I am back on tamoxifen as of yesterday and praying antidepressants mitigate the mood swings I had in June. I am transitioning back to work. good sex is possible - just saying. A few months beyond chemo, and when not on tamoxifen, we rocked the house! Well, not really but at least we rocked a little even if we did not begin an earthquake. AND THEN I got a UTI! God help me!

There is Hair growing on this forum. I see spikes of hair. Remember back in May...what hair?

And I am going for the BC retreat in OCT... Now, who is going to watch my kids? I have to plan this really well

Alibeth - My hair thinned some but I still have a bunch of hair. Here is a pic of me and my girls at our celebration of last chemo dinner last night. I still have surgery and radiation to go but am so happy to be done with the chemo. 4.5 months of chemo is a long time!

Ok, Italy and Ksusan- you guys are the new designated hair fairies. Bless us with your magic wands!

I'm glad to hear that good sex post-chemo is possible!

GKO, I almost did that to a bald lady today. Totally thought she was a nurse.

Ok, so I totally did the bad thing today at Rads, but only in my head. I saw a lady walking down the hall bald and was all "Damn, she looks good, and isn't it sweet of her to shave her head in solidarity with someone." Luckily I didn't say that out loud! I'm still not totally sure she was a patient and not a caregiver LOL. Also, got a shout out at the grocery store from a lady who completely thought I just shaved my head because I didn't like my hair, and was going on and on about wishing she was brave enough to shave all hers off because it was straight and she hated it. I just went with it and encouraged her to brave the shave. I'm like a bald social ninja lol. OK, new rant. Without hair, what do you use to floss your teeth with in an emergency?? Come on, we've all done it.

On the topic of Rads, my tech told me I could shave my pits- I didn't even ask. They must be pretty hairy LOL. Guess its time to buy razors....

Hi April Chemo gang and women of fantastic fuzzy heads! Big congrats on making it this far!

I am the lurker from the July group. I just finished my four AC treatments and start 12 weekly Taxol/Carboplatin next week.

What do I need to know about this new drug combo? Any tricks, drugs, good news or warnings you can pass on?

    Cheers.

Jen- "A bald social ninja" dang but you always make me howl! I love the way you and Ksusan keep doing stealth changes on your siggie lines. That makes me laugh too. Just wanted you to know I still read those, even though I know you and your "stats" and am paying attention. Most of the time. Most unsettling.

Melb- congrats to you on crossing the finish line! Ringing a few bells for you! πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽˆπŸŽˆπŸŽˆπŸŽ‰πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””!!!! You look great. Wonderful pic of you and your kids.

Unexpected hazard of the mohawk- now everyone wants to pet me. I feel like I need a shower from all the hands on my head! And my friendly cop neighbor just basically said I look like a drug dealer. Actually he said he had a mohawk for a drug sting he was just involved in, but said mine was better. And then he wanted to pet my head. Just to be clear, I had never spoken to this man until last week. Wigs were easier, socially. They force people to walk on eggshells around you. This whole cancer thing is just one social experiment after another!

ahhh the hazards of a social ninja. It is interesting how some people you never talked to suddenly want to talk. Or worse, pet. Not the good kind of petting either! So coconut oil won't help.

Katy- ok you now owe me one new keyboard for my computer, on account of I just snorted a gallon of water out my nose laughing at that comment. He's cute, but I"m happily married. Oh my god. Just apply coconut oil to lubricate any social situation. Better than whiskey!!!!
