I love this thread. I too had always wanted to try this but the big C forced me to. They have a few classes weekly at the local cancer wellness center and the instructor is fantastic. I can't believe how deep I am under. I feel less stressed lately, although I have been taking .25 xanax nightly to sleep so I don't know how much of it is the xanax. I want to do the mediations daily, too, but I need to get all set up at home. For now, the weekly is helpful.

I actually just read this article about how meditating can help if you have cancer and I definitely want to try it. Glad I found this thread to read more about your experiences. I'm going to see if there are any classes I can take and start ASAP.

Here's the link if anyone wants to read it: https://reimagine.me/editorial/magazine/9-reasons-to-meditate

I haven't read all the posts on this board but a new MD suggested I check out "Muse"--the brain sensing device. I found it on Amazon for about $300 and am thinking of getting this as a Christmas present. I couldn't find any published research articles (if any one knows of some I'd like to hear about it/them.)

The anecdotal reviews on Amazon were mixed.

    Hugs,

    Peggy

Just wanted to tell you about calm.com. Someone mentioned it on another thread and I have been doing it (almost daily) for 20 minutes. I really like it and I feel like it is helping me sleep better. You can also do a paid app but I haven't ventured into that area yet.

Like Allison, I've also been using calm.com. I think it's a great app. I did the free programs and then subscribed for the others.
