Femara effectiveness in the second five years

My oncologist says that the benefit/effectiveness/protection of Femara remains up to the 10 year mark if you stop taking it after five years.

I haven't found any research outcomes that say this. Has anyone here read anything on this?

Here is some info from the ATAC trial when they did a follow-up 100 months after endocrine therapy stopped. It appears that there was extended benefit for the AI arm after the drug (anastrazole) was stopped, in that DFS for the anastrazole arm was longer than the tamoxifen arm. Since anastrazole and letrozole work similarly I suppose this data could be extrapolated to letrozole as well.

A general conversation regarding carryover effect from 2013 that breaks down potential long term risk by pathological factors is linked. My MO plans to use the BCI test, also linked below, next year at my five year point to try to determine my longer term risk. He mentioned that the risk of stopping at five years has to be contrasted the risk of adverse issues if I continue (cardiac, joint, bone health, etc.)

This is nine years for me on Femara and feel I've tolerated it well. In comparison to a recent dx of Lyme disease, I can honestly say the joint issues on Femara are much easier than what I had with Lyme.
