I have to catch up here but just wanted to say the cancer is stable. So that's good.

    EDITED:

Annie, Sandy, Aiobheann and Jenny, GREAT NEWS!!!!

Kathy, Roses and KT, My news is probably more like your news, it is just so difficult to say what is going on some times. My tm's are good but the scan did have increased SUV's on the bone mets but honestly I think that there are some errors, what was left is now right on iliac. It is making me a bit crazy. Good news I think but not 100% certain, nothing eye popping in my opinion (so my assessment is stable).

Carla, Good luck to you too.

(I took a break this weekend because of nerves and a few other crazy things going on in my life and now I am trying to catch up, I really hope that I have not missed anyone. Love you all and thank you.)

Italian trip almost over - heading back to London and blood tests on Thursday and PET/CT scan on Friday. Holiday has been busy with house guests most of the time but an underlying anxiety about aches and pains. Leg was aching before I left and blood counts were dropping but I put off scan to travel.

Blood will be interesting as my platelets normally fall off a cliff about 2 weeks after treatment but I don't know this cycle as I haven't had any tests. All I do know is that when I tripped over dog last week and cut my arm, I expected it to bleed (no platelets) and it didn't.

Will get results on Friday evening. Onc will only give results face to face. He argues he has to be present for bad results to provide solutions and a plan and that doesn't work if you are prepared to give good results over the phone or e mail. He's an amazing guy. I used to think I worked hard and long hours but I don't think he ever stops.

Best wishes to all those waiting for results - praying for good ones for us all.

MusicLover, stable is good! That is great news and I'm so happy for you,

Bosco, I'm sending all of my positive mojo your way. Praying for good scan results and hoping your blood work comes back good too. Glad you had a nice trip but sorry about the underlying anxiety, we never seem to get a day off from cancer. No matter where we are or what we're doing there's alwaye a constant reminder. I'm so happy you didn't let it stop you from taking the trip.

Wishing anyone else with upcoming scans and tests the best!

    Hugs to all, Annie

Hi everybody... .thanks for so many extended hands, prayers and good thoughts.... I'm sorry it took me so long to send an update. I actually had to get my results via EMAIL... ugh... my oncologist didn't call me this time... so nerve wracking to get that email and then have to read it. BUT - all good news.... both CT scan and bone scan showed no progression. Whew. I like the PET scans better because they start out with "No Evidence of Disease:"... but with these I actually had to go through all of the details ... I needed a Xanex just for those few minutes. My oncologist did send me an email a few days later and said :"terrific results"..... so I was glad I was reading it right.

So glad to hear so many positive results from so many of you! Annie, KT1966, Music Lover, Aoihobean (did I spell that right?) Ronnie Kay, Jenny Lee ( I had my ovaries shut down too...).. and RosesToses.... GREAT NEWS! I apologize if I am missing anyone.... don't think we have heard from CarlaK?

Thanks for waiting with me! XOXO

    Andrea

Had Pet/CT scan this morning. Anxiety levels now sky high. results in 4hours time. Hoping my husband will make it back in time ( he is driving back from Italy with the dog) but it's difficult getting through Channel Tunnel at the moment. Leg and head hurting so expecting bad news. At least it's not long to wait

I have a consult with a BS on Monday. This has been the longest month of my life. I found the radiologist lacking. She didn't want to do the mammogram because of my age (24) But my grandmothers on both side got breast cancer in their early 30s and a cousin got it at 29. I feel like the radiologist thought I wanted BC. UMMM no I just want to be 100% sure. The sonogram didn't find anything because my breasts were too dense and they still didn't do the mam. But I am insisting to see a BS.

thanks Sandy and Nancy. Good to know you're there. And husband just walked through the door with 2 hours to spare. He looks wrecked from driving 1000 miles but he's here.

and just home with pretty good news. Brain still clear (that's the recurrence I really fear), leg about the same - still showing activity so I am going to have an MRI of pelvis, hips and upper leg next week to see if it's progression or healing. Hilar nodes about the same apart from one a bit larger at entrance to lungs. Some tiny nodules in one lung. After discussing w onc whether this was just some inflammation and not progression, he sent us to see the reporting radiologist ( who kindly saw us straightaway at 7pm on a Friday night). He took us through all the relevant areas and a comparison with previous 2 scans and was hugely reassuring. 95% certain nodules just some inflammation from a cold not MBC. So glad onc suggested seeing the radiologist.

Onc's summary was v mild progression but depends on nodules. If they are not MBC, probably stable not progression. No treatment change.

Time for a glass of red wine! Thanks for all thoughts and wishes and hoping others get good news too. Next time I think I'd have scan before holiday rather than after.

No apology for anxiety EVER necessary - we all understand - glad you're home and hubby too (and dog I assume) - think you're right about getting scan results before vacation next time. Sounds like good news to me - have a great weekend. S.

Hi Terri! I just logged in to see what info I could find on radiation therapy pain relief. . .glad the rads helped your pain! I'm scheduled to start treatments 8/31. 10 rounds for my arm/shoulder and 13 for left hip. The pain in my arm and shoulder is intense and I have so much hope the rads will help me. I'm concerned if I cannot get the pain under control I won't be able to continue working. I have a desk job so no heavy lifting but sitting for long periods and repetitive movements in typing really aggravate my shoulder.

How much relief would you say you've had? And thanks for the heads up on giving it time to work!

    Jenny
