Lily, being an amateur photographer has helped me through many downer days. At least gets me out of the recliner or computer chair. I still wish we lived closer and could enjoy a weekly chitchat over breakfast, lunch, brunch, or dinner. *Hugs*
I took the following photos this afternoon.

Lily- several bco sisters here have talked about adult coloring books being very therapeutic for PTSD issues. I now have one and it is great for helping with overall stress management. Mine features mandelas with some positive affirmation messages. I will share I that I like it far more than I could have expected. A coloring book and some crayons is a nice inexpensive way to help ourselves.

Teka- I love taking photos!
-
Interesting!
-
For the cat people here (and you know who you are). How cute is this?
-
Son thinks Teka would like!

Wow jazz. I pulled out my coloring books tonight. They are calming. Hubby told me that he saw an article on Msnbc that indicated some of the top selling books on the list are adult coloring books. Going to have to find that article.
Those are very nice pics Teka. The colors are calming and quiet. I can put myself there.
Lily- hugs to you. I hope you can find some coloring books. It sounds silly but they do work. What is great about them is you can step away at any moment and then go back and color for 30 seconds if you feel a bit to a scattered. You can find some great ones on amazon. You can get the Mandela ones or others that are like fairies, or other unique pictures. You can use colored pencils or whatever floats you boat.
Shutterbug has a great mandela one . She posted a pic in another thread and that is what made me pull mine back out.
Weird. have not thought of them in the last ten years but a month ago Shutterbug had a party and posted about them and I pulled mine out. Today suddenly, I remembered and actually colored...and now here reading once again about them.
I just snapped the books so you can see an example:

Don't know if Princess would like a cat bed like that. I imagine she would stay warm all winter long though.
-
I woke up this morning thinking I feel ready for fall. My favorite season. Then I went outside after a some rain last night and it feels like early fall today. What a nice way to greet the day!
-
Humidity is building already. Most likely going to have to have the a/c on later
-
Hey Mommy- did you see this on your local news? It was on our local news here out west, a burger chain in CT is serving cricket shakes! EWW!

Yes. We have Jake's Wayback here in my town and my reaction was the same.....EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!
-
Feeling lonely and feeling tested seem to be getting a lot of the same kind of emotional challenges...........trying to grow through them but have to admit that every single day I feel so profoundly sad about my body, and how my life is now, its not depression but its a huge deep sadness................alone and alone........
You gals seem to be doing good .................I looked at colouring books, not for me would drive me nuts far too fussy.......!
-
Lily- bc can be so isolating with all the changes to our bodies and our relationships. Are there any communities in your area you can find to do things you enjoy to make some new friends? Even other who have dogs and would like a walking companion?
Hugs sister, sorry you are feeling such loneliness and sadness today.

What a cutie!
-
Hi Teka- what is shaking? That piglet is adorable! I have always wanted a pot belly pig for a pet!
-
Husband and I returned on Saturday from a 4 day mini-vacation to Maine.
Some pot belly pigs can grow huge!
-
Teka- that spot is gorgeous. Where was it taken in Maine?
Yes, I know they can be large! I neither have the right house or yard for such a beast, but do hear they make great pets!

Photo taken at the summit of Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park.
-
BB, I think you're a Newbie to this thread. Welcome!
-
Teka- BB popped in here awhile back, I remember her from a few months back. Hermits has been quiet this summer (everybody maybe enjoying life?) She is a relative newbee vs. us old time folks (almost three years for me come this fall.....)
-
I hope members gone MIA are enjoying the Summer!
-
Me too Teka! More to life than this bc crap!
-
Blondie,

Teka, that is so cool! I lived at the foot of that "mountain" and climbed it a few times, in the early 70's (first marriage). That little island was right out our back door, our house was on the coast just north of the harbor. Wow. Memories.
-
Rufous hummingbird at the bird feeder tonight.

It has been a long time since I posted in this thread or on BCO for that matter. Nice to see some old the old faces from when the thread was started in 2011 and some new. Took a break to try and refocus my life and move on from BC. Mostly worked. Have had 2 surgeries to deal with SEs from the Tamoxifen and have now been diagnosed with LE - 3 1/2 years later! kind of ticking me off and sort of depressing to realize that the answer to "when does this end" is never.
-
Bgirl- nice to see you here! I am sorry about the surgeries and now the LE. I worry about that too, I know it can show up years later. Do you have a good LE therapist lined up to help?
I don't think it ever ends, we just find ways to cope for the longer term.
-
Thanks teka
Great pix

*Good Morning Hermits*
Bgirl, been a long time!
Our neighbor the Sugar House Creamery posted the following lovely photo on Facebook.
