Missing Dose

Options

I am not sure if I took my pill last night. I just can't remember. Is it okay to skip it until next dose...or should you just go ahead and take it if you can't remember? I have my alarm on my phone set for 9:30 every night but for some reason my iphone was on DND.. and I can't remember if I took the pill or not? Just wondering for next time this may happen.

When I'm not certain whether or not I've taken my dose, I don't risk taking a second dose. I wait until the next day. Our MOs put us on drug vacations for weeks sometimes, so missing a day or two once in a while is not going to be a problem.

I'd take it this morning & take another one a little later tonight.....or if take tonight's a little early maybe. I don't think it matters too much if it's a rare type of thing but I was paranoid about getting them taken every day. What I did was get one of those little daily pill dispensers; and then put it right next to something you do each night (on top of your pajama drawer?). It got so automatic for me that sometimes I wouldn't remember if I already had taken it or not......so I could look in my pill box, and if 'Saturday' was empty, then I must have already taken it!

The half life of arimidex (if that's the pill you are taking) is about 46 hours, so a pretty hefty level remains in your bloodstream, not only from your last pill, but, in lesser amounts, from a couple of previous days as well. If you search for the package insert that comes with your Rx, there will be a sentence beginning with, "If you miss a dose." Most likely it will just say something to the effect that you should not take the pill too close to your next one. As you are right in the middle, my thought would be either to just take your regular pill later on, or maybe take it a couple of hours early, say at 6:30 rather than 9:30, then go back to normal tomorrow. If you want a solution from the horse's mouth (so to speak), call your pharmacist.

thanks for all your answers. I like the idea of the pillbox I think I'll get one today when I go to pick up my refill. I'll also ask the pharmacist what he thinks should be done in the case of a

Thanks Kayb.... I decided to just skip it and take it tonight when I am normally scheduled to take it. I worried that if I had taken it I would be doubling up on it and wasn't sure if that was better than not taking it at all?? Will be getting the pill box so that this doesn't happen again.
