Endometrial Biopsy

I have been on Tamoxifen for a little over three years. My periods finished 15 months ago (I am 51). I started light bleeding 7 days ago, so last week my GYNO did an endometrial biopsy. Of course, he is on vacation this week, so he said I probably wouldn't hear from him until next week!

I'm not good at waiting, but I am STILL bleeding (finishing day 7) &, at times, my pelvic area seems heavy (like I ate too much). Should I use the two week rule and wait, or call my regular doctor?

    Opinions, please!

Hard as it is to wait, my opinion is that you will probably get the best answer from the results of your biopsy .... can your regular doctor access those for you?? Otherwise hold out for your Gyno to get back to you .....

Fingers crossed there is nothing to worry about!

What stopped my Tamoxifen bleeding was a D&C/polypectomy. My GYN thought it was my polyp(s) that were causing my bleeding. My endometrial biopsies always came back benign. I was also offered an ablation & a progesterone secreting IUD as a way to deal with the bleeding. I had a hydrosonogram to diagnose my polyps.

Still no results from my doctor and I am still bleeding (9 days straight). Thank you Coraleliz and Morwenna for responding. The biopsy was painful, but I got through it. Is a D & C painful? Do they give you anything to ease the pain? I don't know what to expect regarding if this is Cancer or not, but I want the bleeding to stop. I have never bled this long except after I gave birth.

Ardychan- my D&C(s) was(were) in an outpatient surgery center. I had general anesthesia. Very little pain. I was able to go to work as well as work out the next day. Hope you find some relief soon.
