Happy Anniversary Mag!

Chevy -Oh! Milk toast sounds sooo good! I am going to try sprinkling a very small bit of sugar or lemon juice on my food and see if that helps at all.
-
Good morning ladies- I have a busy Saturday ahead, but wanted to wish you a good day.
Susan- I am glad your talk about the birds and the bees have kept your budgies in check. Chevy thinks you gave them a cold shower, LOL!
Mags- happy anniversary. Love the pic of you and DH. Congrats on getting another car so you have your own wheels now for all you want to do.
Is that your natural hair? I think so vs. it looking like the wig you had. If yes, it is growing back nicely.
Marlanab- congrats on ALMOST being done with chemo. Good to have some space to just get through this. Not sure what is next for you, but hope you are almost done!
I speak french too!

I have such a headache

Has anyone seen Cami on any of the threads? I have not seen her for awhile anywhere.
-
I searched for her last night, she's been posting on a drinking thread, last was July 29.
Sassy, did you try to change your avatar? Nowgo back 2 pages and do what I said. If your head works!
-
Smarty- okay, good. Just was worried but glad to hear she is kicking around on the drinking thread!
That cracks me up, a drinking thread. I think I am going to start a jazz thread.
-
Now who would imagine that Sass would have a head-ache? The whole world. WE knew THAT was coming..... We should all feel sad, or laugh our butts off....

-
I've lurked there looking for Camili. Most every day they post a drink recipie.
-
Thanks for keeping me posted on Camillegal!
Today's creation. Fresh peaches from the farmers market this week, combined with other fruits and some mint from my herb garden.

-
Jazzy, Love the fruit dish. A friend of mine adds lemon yoghurt as a dressing.
Marlana, I can relate. In Mexico I speak really good French. In France, only Spanish comes to me.

Yummy looking fruit salad Jazzy.
I can't believe I finally caught up, at least on this thread.
Someone else mentioned sleeping for a couple of days. I did the same. It is rather aggravating. I have set my alarm for tomorrow and hopefully will obey it.
Happy birthday and happy anniversary to the appropriate people.

Ok, I need some help here. I can tolerate bland foods and sweet stuff but everything bleck.
Water starts tasting really bitter after about 8 ounces
Tried - not so good:
Coke
7-up
mountain dew
Things that work kind of:
Tea cold
milk
strawberry fanta
I am adding a bit of lemon juice or sugar to my food and that is helping get rid of the metal taste as i eat. I am using plastic cups, plates, spoons and forks.
Can you all share what you drank from your past chemo se's (those that had taste changes.) ?
-
I run into the same problem Frey, except that everything tastes sour. An occasional ginger ale is good. Lemonade is good, up to a point. I mix seltzer water and cranberry juice, and that tastes good for a while. Plain green tea with honey is good. I used to love chai, but not now. I was a coffee addict, but when I have it now it is in the form of espresso. It seems to me I just never know what will taste good.
-
Thank you Dune. I am going to try some lemonade. Right now sour and sweet seem to work the best. Going to get some freezer pops too since someone was kind enough to suggets them in a pm.
-
Frey- I did not do chemo, but know ginger ale settles the stomach.
-
Oh My Dears I leave you alone for a day and this is what I come back to - You are much better than any comedy on the TV. But I want to join in whatever it is your having, except for Tres and Marlana and their steroid highs.
HaHa Marlana "I like to call Franglispanitgerm which is where the bits and pieces of the 5 languages that I speak get jumbled up in my mouth and come out as onemashed up language". I'm with you girl. Lived in Hawaii for 1.5 years, took Japanese. Moved to El Paso, forced into Spanish (5h grade). Chose French in HS plus 1 year of Latin and took 3 semesters (I think, too long ago) of college French - maybe 2.5 years. Don't think I even have a transcript. I can usually think of the French word which often - not always - leads me to the Spanish word. Verb conjugation fugetaboutit.
Mags - Happy Belated Anniversary. Love flan.
Frey - so sorry for the bad or no taste food. Yuck on the chewed aspirin taste. Cami I think drank and drinks now Propel (besides being on the Drinking Thread). Yup found it on one of her old posts. Oh yes the freezer pops. There is a house brand of pops here tropical fruit flavored. Lady was buying all they had, said it had helped her thru chemo and now family was hooked on them. I would try them too but never room in our freezer for an 18 count of pops. Ice chips? Are you drinking filtered water? I swear by my Britta pitcher. Don't know if either of these will help. I searched "what tastes good when having chemo". (((Hugs)))

Missing Patty and getting concerned. Who is it that keeps in contact with her? Snooped a bit and she hasn't been on since the 30th.
Sassy - what you been up to today?
-
Thank you do much Luv. I am going to go read those links.
-
Oh dear oh mine, it is a blustery day out there, I got blown in here. Chevy don't worry about renaming me, when the wind changes the direction, I will be blown out here! It looks Sassy still likes butterfly, Smarty, get out that cat, I want to steal it. Happy belated b-day for Sassy and Chvey, and anniversary to mags. Did you fight for that flan? It is too small! Has anyone heard from Rosie in FL? Reading this thread is definitely better than watching comics on TV, but why I always have tears with my laughters? Well, just noticed the wind changes the direction, I am outta here!
-
Thanks for the well-wishes. I just have to get thru the next few weeks of SE's...MO told me to email the RO to let him know that I'm done with chemo. My guess is that I'll have about a month before that adventure starts.
Yes, Chevy...Franglispanitgerm! I figure with the European Union, I'm ahead of the game with my language skills. And not chicken egg fertilizer...Muffin girl probably knows all about that.
Jazzy--the fruit looks great. I wandered around the farmers' market after my infusion on Thursday...bought way too much fruit. Like Costco amounts of fruit. I have no idea what I was thinking!
Mags--happy anniversary! 🍰
Spookie and Wren--glad I'm not the only one getting languages mixed up. I only speak really well when I'm half drunk. The only problem with that is that if you go past half drunk you do embarrassing things like talking to stray dogs on the streets of Rosarito, unknowingly witnessed by your friend's little sister who brings it up in front of your new boyfriend.
Frey--I've done ice chips during my I.v....I didn't do it very well during round 1 so I had a little metal mouth. Mio helped a lot. I did better keeping my mouth frozen during the last 3 rounds so I've had very little change in my tastebuds.
-
Hey Frey, just saw this. I am ten months out from last chemo and still have taste issues. I suddenly couldn't stand coffee, and developed a sudden revulsion for what I thought would be my salvation in chemo, ginger. I had stocked up on ginger ale, candied ginger, ginger candy, etc., and they went unused. Juices: I tried apple, cranberry, apricot, pear, orange, pineapple, grape, and various combinations. They would taste ok for a day or two and then would be awful. Finally one of my chemo thread ladies mentioned SodaStream. My desperate DH bought one, and when I tried the Country Time Lemonade, lightly spritzed, it was like coming home. I still drink it, exclusively, when I'm not drinking coffee (which I was able to go back to). I was never a water drinker, so it was important to find something I could use to stay hydrated. My tongue was so sensitive I mostly ate really bland food. My tongue is still sensitive, though not all the time. I can't use regular toothpaste, too strong, and anything with vinegar is painful. Sometimes spicy foods are ok, sometimes not. I never know with them until I put it in my mouth.
-
Marlanab- I have bought too much fruit before too. Freeze some, smoothies good too if your stomach can handle that right now?
-
EEeeeeeeeeeYore! Please don't go! It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood! Spookie, who has a "real" Eeyore, will be confused! But I like your sense of humor! Where is it you live? In Wyoming? The wind ALways blows there. Or are you not for real?
Yes, go buy lots of fruit when it's on sale, and put it in freezer bags, then throw those frozen little berries in your cereal! Or heat it up for a few minutes, with sugar or that syrup-like sugar... (what IS that?) and spread it on waffles, bisquits, etc.
You guys with this Frangelicagerm, and chicken egg fertilizer.... WHAT am I to do? I can barely understand or speak ENGLISH! I know Chickens and Eggs... Nothin' else. All's I know is "Ola".... Which probably means "Hello" or something close.......... Oh wait.... I used to hear lots of cuss-words in Italian, hanging around DH's family.... Most of them were probably directed at me.... but I didn't know any better...... Didn't matter... what you don't know can't hurt you, right?
Yes, I hear from the Cammi once in awhile! She SOUNDS like she is doing good... just spends all her time drinking, and up to all her old bad habits lately! She took up pole-dancing... I mean with all her "other" talents, why not? She is such a tart... ya just can't help lovin' someone so needy like that...........
I'm almost finished with the parking nightmare! Not that any of you remember what I'm talking about... but I get all these ideas in my head, and I've revised my plans so many times, I can't think straight! It will be light soon... so while you guys are all snoozin' I'll be out working my arse off digging, planting and moving cinder-blocks.

Watching the best part of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" where Ferris's buddy destroys his dad's priceless car! This part is a classic!
-
Mom2! Good Morning! Are we having coffee together?

-
So do any of you gals have Windows 10 yet? I mean do I wait until I am notified before I can download it? I am running Windows 8.1, and I keep getting prompts saying "it's almost here".... etc!
Do any of you have any ideas on this, about the easiest way to install? I have read good reviews, but don't know of anyone who has tried it yet.....
