Tamoxifen and Acne

Hi, just wondering if this acne is a side effect from tamoxifen, I have more problems with ance at 51 then I did in my teens, also getting acne on my torso. Just wondering if this is normal?

    We want to welcome you to our community here at BCO! We hope you find the support and information you're looking for.

    The acne could definitely be related to the tamoxifen. Every woman is different, but many will experience menopausal-like symptoms on Tamoxifen, and the hormone changes can definitely effect your skin. We know it's just one more thing to have to deal with! If you find it becoming an issue, we would suggest seeing a dermatologist, who might be able to prescribe a topical treatment to help manage the acne. If it's hormonal, it may go away on it's own as your body adjusts to the different hormones and hormone levels, but you may be able to treat it in the meantime!

    I had a horrible pimply rash cover my torso spreading up my neck. It only occurred after having a period but not after every single one. I definitely never had anything like this before Tamoxifen. My Dr. gave me a rx for Minocin 50 mg, an antibiotic used for acne. I took it for 7 days and it cleared up a week quicker than before I had the medicine to use.
