Hi Misty. I was on Faslodex for about a year or so. The biggest side effect for me was my continually rising liver numbers....not from liver mets but from the drug itself. It does have a tendancy to do that, so you'll likely be monitored for that. Other than that, my butt hurt for a few days but everyone else I talked to were only sore for a day. I think it's because I don't have a lot of meat there. I also got super dry skin (and wrinkles seemed to appear overnight sometimes). Other than that....super easy and convenient treatment. Good luck to you.

Faslodex for 5 months now. Symptoms getting better but agitation getting worse.
This is battle #2 with disease. Been on every other option so this is last choice until some other wonder drug comes out.

I started on Faslodex yesterday (10/22/15). My butt is pretty sore and the hot flashes are worse, but so far so good. I've found that gabapentin works wonders for hot flashes. Any side effects I need to watch for?

I just came across this thread while looking for the "main" Faslodex thread, which I seem to have inadvertently dropped off my favorites, and so interested to see your comment, leggo, about the increasing liver counts. My Alk Phos has been climbing for several months, and no one mentioned to me that it could be the Faslodex. Good to know! I'll confirm with my UCLA onc when I see her next week, but for now you've eased my mind!
Lynne, welcome to BCO! So sorry about the sore butt. That really shouldn't happen -- at least not extremely sore. There are all sorts of tips on the other Faslodex thread (which I still haven't found) about being sure the drug is warmed and injected very slowly, keeping your weight off the side they're injecting, and a few more things. When I find that thread, I'll come back and give you a link to it. But if any of those things weren't done, that could be the problem with the pain. I found one of the lab assistants in my local onc's office is much better at giving these shots than some of the others, so I always ask for her now.
