Been trying on some of my tops today just to see how they fit and see if I still look "good" in them. It sure is a different look. Kinda found a pain in trying on clothes with the tubes still in. Going to wait until tubes come out and "play dress up "

Pre, Be sure to stand in front of a mirror and bend over. Once in a while the neck will be open enough for your waist to be visible.

In the brief window between chemo and radiation, I got this swim outfit. Men's swim shirt, women's bottoms, both UV-protectant. Bonus: The shirt is loose and covers the radiation area so I can wear it if I need to be outside for awhile during radiation.

currently writing this flat as a pancake, I have two prosthetics which I wear when I feel like it. The lady who fitted me called my size the "why bother" ha!

I go flat 24/7 but if I were ever inclined to get prosthetics I would get the "why bother" size.

    Love it, Suladog, hahaha!!!

Flat as the lake with no wind here since March 9. I WISH I could remember if I've ever asked to join you before! Argh..chemo brain. Anyway, no prosthetics yet and no regrets. I don't think anyone really notices unless they hug me? Glad to see all you flat sisters out ther being fabulous!

Littleblueflowers, Welcome. No need to ask, just jump in. They probably don't notice and are not bothered if they do.

I like giving hugs. They are so much better now that I'm flat. Talk about being up close and personal!

I'm an 11 days flat and fab. Not regretting the surgery. 32 years old and surgery was a preventative surgery after genetic testing and family history. My mom was flat and fab before she died. She rocked the flat and fab and I will too. Get the tubes out tomorrow and can't wait to try on some clothes. Flat and fab for life๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€ I'm a prek teacher in an elementary school and think his next year will be interesting because I have a few kids that I know will talk up and say some like "you have no boobies" or other cute things. Looking forward to this new stage in life

    Prek,

I had one side flat 25 yrs ago when I was a bit older than you, back then they didn't do prophylactic stuff, so I was back again with the other side. Finally I'm even! Once the drains were out it was a little bit before everything flattened out, but both I and my BS were really pleased with the results.

I was dx'ed in 2009 (stage 3) and did chemo first. While I was doing chemo I realized that half the women in the room with me had had reconstruction already and THAT was causing way more issues then the chemo!! I told my Dr no way no how for me. She said I should reconsider. She said I would regret it. She fought me every step of the way. 6 years later-- NO REGRETS. I love it. Okay-- I get the occasional "sir"--but I can live with that!

    Christine,

I hear ya! When I was dx'ed the first time in 1990 I was in my 30's and TN, they gave me a poor prognosis and I figured who knew how much time I had, I wasn't going to be obsessing over implants or spending whatever time I had recovering I just wanted that thing off!!. So I didn't reconstruct, actually I'm a 34 A or double A or whatever so it didn't really matter what I had there, It wasn't very noticeable. When I was diagnosed the second time with another primary on the other side, I must have thought about reconstruction for about 5 minutes, and decided nope...so far so good.I didn't want to sweat infection, more drains etc. I like being flat.

Hi, littleblue. We seem to be traveling the threads in tandem.

I make all my medical providers admire my incision scars (which are healing really well) and agree that I look great. This is how I indicate to them that I don't need or want any pity or support about not having breasts.
