One of my best friends gave me a shadow box full of inspirational quotes while I was in treatment. Here are some of my favorites:
I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it. Maya Angelou
Hang On Pain Ends - You have the strength you need to get through this!
This, Too, Shall Pass.
You have to fight through some of the bad days to earn the best days of your life.

This isn't exactly a quote, but it is from the June 1 issue of Time Magazine in an article on the traits of resilient people, and I think is really good:
Expert Tips For Resilience
1. Develop a core set of beliefs that nothing can shake
2. Try to find meaning in whatever stressful or traumatic thing that has happened
3. Try to maintain a positive outlook
4. Take cues from someone who is especially resilient
5. Don't run from things that scare you: face them
6. Be quick to reach out for support when things go haywire
7. Learn new things as often as you can
8. Find an exercise regimen you'll stick to
9. Don't beat yourself up or dwell in the past
10. Recognize what makes you uniquely strong-and own it

Great piece Ruth. Thanks for sharing.

50% of what you worry about will never happen,
The other 50% will and you will deal with it,
So don't worry!

From the California Surf Museum in Oceanside. Bethany was a young surfer whose whole arm was bitten off by a shark. Her motto is a pretty good one for us all!

I am so happy I found this thread. I still have one more round of chemo and am anxious about it since this last one has been so difficult. I have been reading several pages here, relating, crying, among feeling many emotions. I am feeling better. I read so much about the negatives, even when treatment ends, I find it scary to think about the future. I have to take Arimidex and am trying to be positive about that too. Anyway, thank you to all of you for your uplifting posts. I am going to make this one of my favorites. Here is something a good friend sent to me.

This quote has helped me learn to stop adding to my problems. Sometimes you just have to say "no". -
