Morning gals! Yes Loverly... just think about the special moments you have with your kids... It doesn't seem possible that I have grown this much older, and so many years have passed! If you could just hang onto them... your kids and those memories!
When I first read your post quickly, I thought I read your Daughter is 12 feet! Haaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Okay... more coffee....
-
No WAIT!!! It isn't THONGS that Spookie has.... it's FLIP-FLOPS!!!! OMD I got corrected soundly by my Grand-son one time... They WERE called THONGS, when I was young....... but HE said "my shoes are NOT thongs Grams, they are FLIP-FLOPS".... Hah!....This is a "thong"... I found a nice G rated thong here......

Unless she has taken up wearing THESE again!
This is a flip-flop....

Okay now that you guys know the difference, I have done my job!
-
As long as you call them that at home Chevy, but seeing as those 'flip flops' in the pic have the Aussie flag on them, I will call them thongs as we have for the last fifty years.
Sheila.
-
OMD. THANK YOU!!!! You save my hide!!!!
-
Sandals

-
Well, if we are going to be talking about flip flops, sandals and the like, here are my new green sandals I found on sale last weekend in Santa Fe. I love the color!

-

THIS IS A CAMMI JOKE.....
A woman was shopping at her local supermarket where she selected:
a half-gallon of 2% milk,
a carton of eggs,
a quart of orange juice,
a head of romaine lettuce,
a 2 lb. can of coffee and
a 1 lb. package of bacon.
As she was unloading her items on the conveyor belt to check out, a drunk standing behind her watched as she placed the items in front of the cashier. While the cashier was ringing up her purchases, the drunk calmly stated, "You must be single."
The woman was a bit startled by this proclamation, but she was intrigued by the derelict's intuition, since she was indeed single. She looked at her six items on the belt and saw nothing particularly unusual about her selections that could have tipped off the drunk to her marital status. Curiosity getting the better of her, she said "Well, you know what, you're absolutely correct. But how on earth did you know that?"
The drunk replied, "Cause you're ugly." -
Guard your sandals Jazzy!
-
Spookie- I think you should give me the car vs. me giving you the sandals. What say you? That car is tres adorbes.
-
hehehehe

Marley One down YAY Catching up been off on a break. Saw where you had 150 0z. Sounds great , but that translates to 4500cc.-- 4 1/2 liters. ( 150 x 30) That's too high. It can mess up your electrolytes. Google water intoxication. Check with your Chemo center and ask what liter amount they want you to shoot for in a 24 hour period. Likely more in the range of 2 1/2 to 3 liters maximum. Be careful if they give you a response "as much as you can". You want a realistic number to shoot for. Water intoxication can kill. Not really your goal for chemo
Going to C&P and PM. -
Loverly, Great link. I added it to the topic box here and on warm & Fuzzies
Hi everyone, going through a phase, Happens every so often

-
Sassy- sorry you are going through a phase.
-
Bloom du jour. Yellow prickly pear just started blooming and must have 100 buds on it. They open for one day then are done. The bees are all inside these blooms doing their bee thing.

-
Sassy.... anything wrong? Is a "phase" the same as PMS? I went through a phase once.... Almost gave up everything that is important to me now..... Just think of it as a temporary form of "don't give a chit"........
You will be back to your old self soon..... I mean not "old" but your usual sense of humor...... If it has anything to do with what's-his-name, then take all the time you need................ I will counsel you.... I'll be your shrink.... the rest of the gals will hold your hand..... I will smack you in the head and tell you "okay, 5 minutes is enough time..." See you soon!
-
still getting a lot of liquid in but balancing in some electrolytes. Bone pain from neupogen is kicking my ass. Love the sandles.
-
Thanks, gals----------DBF fine. Two funerals this week---buggared.
Marley, I described Neulasta as "Wolves gnawing at my bones and I was alive". Even IV Dilaudid didn't cover the pain.
-
Yeah, that pretty much describes the feeling. Mostly in my hips. Ugh. Wish the wolves would find another meal!
-
sounds crazy, try non drowsy Claratin. My chemo nurses suggested it.
-
Sassy- sorry to hear of the losses and the funerals. That would make anyone feel out of sorts. Hugs sister.
-
-
I agree with it only if he is tall, dark and handsome with a lot of cash! I like expensive shoes!
-
Sassy- excellent description of the Neulasta pain...unrelenting from the inside out. I just couldn't stop moving and the pain meds didn't even seem to touch it. horrid. Marlana how many cycles are they wanting to give you?
Pretty funny the thong/flipflop-sandal name wars. Like back in Pennsylvania 1/2 the state called Soda - "Pop" and the other "Soda." Carbonated beverage drink and be happy! Oy.. no issue.
Today not a good day. If I could go for surgery and remove 2 or more feet of my large intestines -I would! Intestinal grief ruins my life. I thought I was miserable yesterday (diarrhea, cramps, gas, bloating pain.)- wrong. So today I got rid of all coffee. Drank tea for breakfast yuck. Then right after lunch - intestines go ballistic and I end up on the pot with a waste can under my chin. diarrhea - puke fest. lovely. Curled up and went to sleep after that, another day shot to hell near a bathroom. Coffee does make it worse but apparently that's not the total reason. I had diarrhea all through ACT chemo, unreal! I needed to buy diaper cream at age 48! Afinitor gave me the chits too. I have a redundant colon/IBS which means I have too much colon all wadded up in a knot. Too bad I can't get elective surgery take it all out. I feel resigned to life no more then 20 feet from the bathroom and near where you can just curl up in a ball and ride it out. What a life! Somebody remind me what it's like to feel good?
I was up until 1am yesterdy reading this book The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency, by Alexander McCall Smith. Cute read! I am enjoying it and already bought the next one in the series. I love the description of African life there.. sounds beautiful with skies stretching out into the horizon blue and enormous like the ocean. Life is hard but grounded to "their" lands and traditions. Like a little trip you can take on the wings of another person's imagination and story. Thank goodness for books because the only trips I seem to make these days are to the bathroom.
I love reading the posts.. but maybe I should just read and not post.
-
Rosie so sorry, plz take care of yourself. wish i lived closer i would try 2 dosomething....
Love yhe shoes n the car..
-
Rose- I am sorry about your GI problems. I have always had a touch of IBS and get anxiety when I am not near a bathroom. It is hard to live your life around one. Have D and other issues makes you so miserable. Wishing you better days. Do you take probiotics at all?
Are you a big reader? I find myself reading more biographies/autobios these days. I am reading Elizabeth Warren's newest book called A Fighting Chance. It is very good, I am learning a lot about the financial policies, etc. of our nation from the time of the great depression to now and how it all works or doesn't.
-
thanks for the suggestion on the Claritin, unfortunately, I already take it for allergies...only two shots of neupogen this round--we'll see about after second blood test in 2 weeks if I'll need more. My mom's a pretty good sticker even if she's years out of practice--haven't felt either shot! Heating pad helped with the hips, but my ribs have decided that they're feeling left out. I'm saving the pain meds for bedtime.
Rose--D is definitely no fun! I'm having the opposite right now! I've got gluten issues but only get D if I've steered clear of wheat and then get contaminated. And I've had recurrent c. Diff that started following a gnarly sinus infection that took 3 rounds of antibiotics to knock it out. 3rd round did a number on my intestines and by that point I was on day 5 of a 22 day vacation in Italy. And isn't it always when you have some really embarrassing problem that you get a cute doc? A really hot, green-eyed Italian...phhth
-
"Wolves gnawing at the bones" pain with Neupogen....oh my, so sorry. It reminds me of the time when I tried to describe to my sister the pain in my chest the day after the mastectomy--feels likefierce animal taking a big bite and refuse to let go of my breast. I can't imagine the bone pain. Marlana, I hope the Claritin helps relieve the pain. There was a study on hydroxyzine, which is also an antihistamine, that showed similar results. Not sure if the other antihistamines will do the same.
Jazzy, love the sandals. They look expensive! Or maybe it's your feet that make the sandals look good. Oh, beautiful prickly pear flowers. Only last one day?
Ms. Spookie, very cute car. Want to trade for my 8-cylinder SUV with plenty of room for your babies and grandkids.
Rose, we take the good with the bad. Maybe, I shouldn't speak for everyone. I look forward to reading your post just like I look forward to everyone else's here. Had my good gallbladder removed in 2010 because they thought it was inflamed. It wasn't. Darn ultrasound. They finally diagnosed me with IBS. I know for surethree things that trigger it- lack of sleep, stress, and red meat. Every so often I get bullet sweat cramps, but never the n/v like you do though. I don't know what normal bm is anymore.
-
Just saw your post about Claritin..,never mind. I will try to find the study on hydroxyzine.
