Just started but have questions
So I found out April 14 that I have IDC and just started today taking tamoxifen. My question to anyone who has taken or is taking this medication what have you have to deal with symptom wise? I know not everyone is the same but just wondering what some have had to deal with. Also for anyone that has stopped taking it how long afterwards did your cycle get back on track? Me and my other half would like to have a baby once I'm all done with everything but was wondering if I would get back on track or would it never happen. How long have you been taking the medication also? My doctor said she wasn't sure how long I would be on it as every person is different. Once this treatment is done I will be having a double bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstructive surgery. Any information will be helpful!

Just to clarify, they are putting you on Tamoxifen before doing surgery? In case you haven't read much about Tamoxifen, you may want to jump on to this Topic: Bottle 'o Tamoxifen

Yes they are putting me on it before surgery. I have also looked up info on tamoxifen but wanted to see what everyone elses thoughts on it was. I also saw that topic and have posted to it too. I'll take a look at the other forum too.

How long do they expect to keep you on Tamoxifen before they do surgery?

I'm not sure I go in next Thursday to speak with my oncologist about surgery. So I'm hoping then I'll find out how long I will be on it. I have already informed her of what type of surgery I want and I have been doing some research on the different types of reconstruction out there.
