Hello, mods! I'm typing using the 'use plain text editor' link and hooray, because the typing is just as normal as could be! Thanks so much to you and to the tech team for figuring this out. I can sure live without formatting, and this is a pretty darn good fix for the problem.

Great Carol!!! We're so happy to hear this! Thank you for the feedback!
Woo hoo!
-
Ok I will see if this will add line breaks.
Kathy
Edited to say YES! Now I can send paragraphs of information. Say thanks to the techies for me will you. -
Great! Will definitely send along the appreciation
Glad we could get a fix! -
Does anyone else find that some of the thread titles appear in what looks like Korean every once in awhile? Right now it's all English, but yesterday at least four of the thread titles were in an Asian alphabet. (My husband says it's Korean.) It's kind of weird and makes me wonder what's going on. Perhaps something is getting crossed up for our Korean sisters, too?
-
Hi Sandilee --
Those were posts by spammers from Korea -- we try to stay on top of them, but they have been coming in waves, so any time you see those type of posts, feel free to report them so we get a notification they are back!
Thanks so much!

Woohoooooooooo using the plain text editor worked, big (((HUGs))) to the tech who figured it out
And don't those Koreans know we'd have to speak their language to click on their links, fools......
-
Awesome! Thank you for letting us know.

I am NOT liking the Mayo Clinic add that appears at the top of the screen when I am on my computer. The screen appears & THEN it pops up jerking all the subjects down just when I am about the click on one. Same thing happens when I enter a thread. Makes the screen jumpy and is annoying. Since it is for advertisement purposes; it should be probably be presented in a different way, because it is making me fee; irritated, not 'oh boy, I would like to go to the Mayo clinic the next time I have a medical problem'.
-
Mods,
I'm sending this not only to test the iPad fix but to thank you and your team for not giving up on a fix.
Caryn -
Thank you for the simple fix on the plain text mode. I blame myself for not being techy whenever I lost on the typing. Now I don't have to play hide and seek on my text!
-
Yeah!!!
-
Ruth, I am with you on not liking the Mayo Clinic pop-up ad. The jumping screen was really annoying as I was reporting 20-some Korean spam posts this morning. But I did it anyway and see they're all gone now. (Thx Mods!) It's so gratifying to be the reporter who sends a spam post into removed by the community status.

We'll bring the feedback to team about the Mayo banner! Thanks. So frustrated with these Korean spammers! Thanks so much for all your help!

G'day from down under to you, the moderators of this wonderful forum, hoping you can help me with my problem. The fault is probably mine as I am not very computer savvy. I received an Android tablet for Mothers day two weeks ago and have had trouble logging into this forum on that device. I am hooked up to facebook and a couple of other sites but, even though I am logged off this one on the desktop PC where I usually read the forums and an Aussie BC site, I can not access them with my log-on from here.
Might this be a Google issue or maybe a browser/cookies one? I have tried to find out if the tablets' browser has a cookies blocker but can't find anything about it. I even tried a new account, using the tablets email address which worked for two posts and the next day when I tried to log on it kept throwing up my AussieSheila username but would not accept my password.
If you can't suggest a remedy I will use the tech support voucher we got with the tablet and spend another 2hrs 30mins as I did trying to connect wi-fi the first day I got the tablet.
I would certainly like to find a solution as I will be in hospital for a week in less than three weeks (not a BC issue, hip replacement) for at least a week on my own a long way from home and family. When I had the first hip done in February there were no individual tv's (just a patient lounge) and the other patients were fairly old and not very chatty. I plan to buy a dongle in order to be able to keep up with this and my other forums, along with the few tv programs I like to 'catch up' on when it suits me.
Thanking you in advance,
Sheila.

Hi AussieSheila,
We're not clear on the issue you're seeing -- is it not letting you log in at all from your Android, or is it not remembering your username/password?
Let us know and we'll do our best to help!

The first time I tried to access BC org on the Android I used my username and password I use on the desktop PC which I had logged out of for this purpose. The Android picked up 'AussieSheila' but would not recognise the password. I tried a new password but that didn't allow me access.
I then tried to open a new account, which I didn't really want to do, so I became PommieSheila with a new password and made 2 posts which showed up here and on the tablet. The next day when I tried to log onto the tablet, I couldn't open that account even though I can see the posts on 'CMF question' on the desktop PC. I don't know whether to get the BC org uninstalled from the Android and start over again or what.
Might there be a problem with Androids as there is with the iPad above?
I hope you can understand all this because I have racked my brains trying to figure it all out.
Thank you, Sheila.

Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies, closing your browser, and then opening the browser to try again? Please let us know if this works. If not, give us the name of the web browser you're using, the operating system, and the Android version (should be version 4.0.1 and up). Please check here for more information about this: Topic: Breastcancer.org Browser and System Compatibility Requirements
We can always ask the tech team to take a look at it and see if they can help.
Sorry for this!

Thanks Mods, the tablet is a DGTECH, WL101GQC, Android, 4.1, with Google OS.
I am looking into the cache/cookies thingy but as yet not finding it, will continue.
Sheila.

Hi Aussie,
On Safari (browser) it looks like this:

Which web browser are you using? The major web browsers are Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera, and Safari
-
I am on Google Chrome, so will now go look for something similar to your post but don't have a clue where to start .
Sheila.
-
AussieScheila, try "Clear Browsing Data..." under Chrome.

-
Sorry Mods, seems like I just have a basic Google w/o the chrome thingy. I have found a page and cleared the cache and cookies so now will try to sign in again, I hope it works.
Thanks in advance,
Sheila.

Hi Mods. Something isn't updating correctly o

n ACTIVE TOPICS. When I'm logged in, it's not updating. When I'm logged out, it's current.

-
Sorry for the formatting. Trying to correct, but it won't let me.
-
Hi Leggo-
Have you tried clearing cookies and cache? What is the most current active topic you see right now?
-
Thanks and sorry I didn't respond sooner. Followed your suggestion and it's working fine now!
